CE stat line against IU (Iran Under 19)

How good is Carsen? He couldn't even generate a positive assist to turnover ratio vs. Iranian teenagers. Vote Cline for the final starting spot.

You are sounding like a troll.....Cline is a nice backup and provides specialist 3 point shooting....that is all. Glad he is on the team, but let's not get carried away.

Your perception undervalues Cline and overvalues Carsen. The advanced stats on sports reference say Cline was significantly better last year. History also says Carsen's role model Iverson never won an NBA championship or made a college Final 4.

I thought for sure this was TIC. CE has some things to work on for sure, but he is likely our 2nd best player next year. No way he doesn't start and play a BIG role in how this team does.

This is the problem when you use only stats to prove your point. Based solely on per minute stats, Haas should be a dominating all American. The reality is he tires out and becomes nonexistent if he plays over 20 minutes. Rather than using ratios and per minute stats, you need to see the total person. And what he does to make the team go, what he does in crunch time, and how he affects his opponent.

As for Alan Iverson, neither Stockton, Malone or Marino won a championship either. And Big Dog had to go to a team and become a role player in order to win his.

I have to "ignore" you from here on out Wolegib. Earlier I replied to you, but the moderators wanted to hold your hand and deleted my post instead of letting adults converse.

Any chance you could mass ignore every poster on this forum. Your amount of troll posts the last 2 days has been excessive.

If we want to talk stats a decent player by the name of Malik Monk generated essentially the same assist to turnover ratio as Carsen last year. But with your logic you would start Cline over him. It's cool we all know your a troll now. Peegs needs your attention more than we do.

Malik Monk's offensive efficiency rating according to sports reference was 6.7 . Carsen's was NEGATIVE. Please don't respond to me directly again unless you have a valid point or I'll have to ignore you to save everyone here time.

I could see that starting spot going to either player and it could be a different guy at different times in the season...I'm gonna go ahead and trust painter on this decision not a fan vote on free message board. Hopefully cline is as good as you think and Carsen has Improved as much as we all hope because that would be a very good problem to have.

The offensive efficiency rating ignores the D played......which coincidently so does Cline.

Did you even watch that game?? I'd say that was a pretty good stat based on what I saw.....but to each their own.

I'll use Kenpom's Offensive rating for my argument here. And with that being said PJ should start over essentially every PG on the top 20 teams. Stats are useful but not absolute. What you are not taking into account is percent possession used. While Carsen may not have a great O Rating, PJs is amazing but that's because he doesn't take chances and doesn't attack. Everything he does is passes around the top of the key and shoot open threes. He cannot create for teammates. Carsen can and has. Carsen O Rating will be much improved this year. And no Cline should not start over him.

Please stop trolling and give me a valid point or I'm going to tell my mommy on you.

Neither team really lit it up at the charity stripe, but come on, Iran, 42%? Really, 42?

This is the most preteen, butt hurt post I think I have ever read in my near 15 years of being on this website. What you are essentially saying is that you want everyone to agree with you and anyone who doesn't is wrong and you'll just ignore them...I'm guessing you are probably around 55-70 which coincides great with most politicians because those individuals do the same thing and have driven our country in to th ground (both sides btw).

I have continuously made the point that stats do not reflect the true story of a player's worth or value. they are great for fantasy sports. the greatest example of meaningless stats was Michigan's Tractor Traylor. his stats were tremendous. but when put to the test of playing over 20 continuous minutes, he did nothing for the last 5-8 of those minutes. His stats never reflected his lapses of ability to play/contribute. he was exposed in the NBA for what he truly was. he's great for 5-10 minute spurts. but you don't want him as a starter. Purdue 's brad miller owned the Tractor every time they met.

and as for stats, as his stats went down, MJ's championships went up, the same was true for Payton Manning. The opposite was true for Marino and Elvin Hayes. if you love stats, you should compare Elvin Hayes' college stats to Lew Alcindor's Stats during the same period. In their first matchup Hayes scored 25 points with 24 rebounds and UCLA won. in the second match, Hayes scored 39 points and 15 rebounds and Houston won and Hayes was named NCAA player of the year. in their third match, Hayes was limited to 10 points in a UCLA blow-out. How many championships did Hayes win ? Zero ! how many championships did UCLA win with Lew Alcindor? 3 in 3 years. Hayes became an NBA great and Hall of famer. Lew Alcindor and Kareem won a lot more championships.

Bret Favre was the ultimate stat killer. he could be having a terrible day stats wise, but with 1 play, he could pull out a victory when everybody thought a loss would happen. and he would do the total opposite, and have a tremendous stats day, and 1 mistake would create a loss

I know all about stats, and I played and won many fantasy games. Stats don't win real gams.
