Lets beat IU and Go Bowling!

Where do you think we'll end up?

It seems there will only be 8 B1G bowl eligible teams.
I think we are headed for the Pinstripe in NYC.

What bowl do you think we will go to?

You don't bag the equipment before the baseball game is over, and you don't talk about bowls until you're team gets you to one. Bad luck to do so. If IU wins, this one's on you.

Bull$hit. We will beat IU at home and their "Clapper, Part Two" coach and end this wretched losing streak in the Bucket Game.

How big is that Rutgers loss now? Hard to believe that Purdue may actually go to a bowl this season. Very exciting

To answer the OP's question, I think the Jerry Palm prediction sending us to Nashville is probably right. Obviously we have to beat IU, but I think we will.

Love to see that one.... 2 good Defenses going at it.....

I hope not. I will go to any other bowl location than that one.

I will not try to jinx Purdue but a lot of the decision will be based on what happens to OSU and UW in the upcoming weeks! If the BIG 10 does not have a team in the championship series that become one less bowl game for BIG 10 teams! I personally would like to go to the music city bowl regardless of who is playing

I hear ya...but I'll let the "take one game at a time" for coaches and players.
As a fan, I start making bowl plans the minute Summer magazines come out. I already have hotel reservations in NYC and San Francisco. Yankee stadium against Florida State would be fun!

Anybody have a list of possible bowls and which conference Purdue would play?

Three Possibilities I've seen -

New Era Pinstripe Bowl (NYC) - BIG vs. ACC (Purdue/Iowa vs. Boston College/Florida State/Virginia Tech)
Foster Farms Bowl (Santa Clara, CA) BIG vs. PAC10 (Purdue/Iowa vs. Stanford)
Music City Bowl (Nashville) - BIG vs. SEC or ACC (Purdue/Iowa vs. Boston College/Missouri/South Carolina)

Unless Minnesota beats Wisconsin, there will only be 8 eligible teams.
There are a bunch of rules that affect seeding, but for the most part is like this....
At large: Sugar, Rose, Peach, Fiesta, Cotton
B1G affiliation:
Orange Miami vs ACC
Citrus Orlando vs SEC
Outback Tampa vs SEC
TaxSlayer Jacksonville vs SEC
Holiday San Diego PAC12
Music City Nashville vs SEC
Pinstripe NYC vs ACC
Foster Farms San Francisco vs PAC 12
Quick Lane Detroit vs ACC
Armed Forces Dallas vs ARMY

I always heard how much it benefits a team to make it to a bowl. The main reason is that they have an extra few weeks of practice. This will benefit Purdue for next season.

there are 7 BIG 10 teams currently qualified to accept a Bowl invitation and one of those teams (Iowa) could end up with a 6-6 record.

Either Purdue or IU will end up with a 6-6 record which would be the 8th qualifier. . Minn has an outside albeit slim chance of ending up 6-6

Nebraska, Rutgers and Maryland could all end up with a 5-7 record albeit very doubtful. .

Maryland plays Penn St. Nebraska plays Iowa, Minn plays UW and Rutgers plays Mich st. Of that bunch, the only game that looks like a possible upset is Nebraska over Iowa. the game is at Nebraska and could be an emotional one.

Looking above, the BIG 10 has 10 affiliations. and tie breakers are not used by Bowl games. A team with a 5-7 record could be selected, but it's possible the bowl would get a choice of Minn, Nebraska, Purdue, Maryland or Rutgers. if you were that Bowl game in Texas, which one of those 5 teams would you choose?

I doubt both Miami and Clemson make the championship series.
So win or lose, it would appear Purdue at 6-6 at best might be invited to music city bowl, but more likely would go to Pinstripe, Foster farms or Quick lane. and at worst at 5-7 would still have a chance at going to the Quick lanes or Bowl game in Texas.

the easy solution? Just win and everything will take care of itself.

5-7 teams are chosen based upon their APR scores which means Purdue won't go bowling at 5-7. According to wiki Purdue's APR is 19th best among teams sitting with 5 wins (last among those 5 B1G teams). We need to win The Bucket to go bowling.
