Can we flip some IU recruits?

As others have posted; Dasan McCullough's dad is an IU Coach. His older brother transfered from Miami (OH) to IU, and his little brother has already committed to the Hoosiers.

BUT, more than any of that, this is the kid who trash tweeted at the players transferring from IU ("Can't make 3rd string at IU, but will probably start for horrible Purdue?) and trash tweeted at our recruit Strickland that "he'd never win a bucket game" Kid is just trash.

sounds like Damoron

A good place to go and flip recruits might be Louisiana. Have had some success there and both LSU and Louisiana have recently lost coaches.
Sounded like the coaches were going to take a couple of well deserved days of rest, and they were hitting the recruiting trails hard. It will be interesting to see the results, since the early, and now really the main period, signing period is only a little over a couple of weeks away.

They’ve had good success in pleasant surprises in the past.

I know virtually nothing about IU recruits, but I question whether we want any. I suppose there are inevitably a couple in-state commits that we also recruited, but I also assume we’ve found replacements for those guys at this point.

Not sure we’d want any portal transfers either. What I saw on Saturday was a collection of about 70 quitters who rolled over at the first sign of adversity. That’s a hard pass from me, but I’ll defer to the coaching staff.

Plummer is an interesting situation. He has two years of eligibility left, and already has a Purdue degree. He could stay and play another year or two, transfer schools, or just hang it up and get a job. None of those would surprise me.
Could we use him at tight end?

I think O'Connell stays, and, I do think you see the other 2 QBs hit the portal.

If O'Connell returns...he plays himself on to a NFL roster...right now, he is drawing interest...come back...he is on radars and will be on even more if he produces.

He is as comfortable right now as he has been...that carries over also as he enters the fall as the starter and offensive (and even team) leader.

It is the biggest question going into the offseason.
DAG10, I always like your posts so this isn't to be negative but I did a search of the various draft boards and I haven't seen AOC listed anywhere. Some were from last week and had 25 QBs listed. Have you read an article or seen something that would indicate that AOC has broken through to be on the NFL's radar or is this speculation based on O'Connell's excellent play?

I think he's great but I honestly don't know what the guys from the NFL are looking for in a QB these days.

Don't blame the kids. Blame the leadership...

Not negative at all, thanks...admittedly, nothing done in the way of research or anything on my end, simply my own thought(s) with respect to his status...that his name has been mentioned much more nationally recently on telecasts/games/post games, etc., and, that his numbers are worthy of attention.

Like say, to me...and you kind of confirmed it...I don't know that he is getting drafted right now...but with some attention, if he were to come back and shine yet again, that definitely could (and likely would) change...that is what I was getting at and why I think he will come back, or, that it makes sense for him to do so.

That all said...it literally takes just one team to like/love you...and, there are reasons for teams to like what O'Connell has done and shown.
