Given how late in the process this firing came, that was my thought.

And this is another hot one the year that we hired Hazell. Seems there were a lot of misses that year in the hires for various reasons. Most of the coaches that people wanted to come to Purdue or were considered have been fired or on the hot seat it seams.

Where does it say anything about a done deal in that article? I wouldn't trust anything Florio has to say. All he does is uses speculation for clickbait. Once someone with actually inside information says it's a done deal, I'll believe it.
