He announced he’s running it back yesterday, nice to see, I was iffy on him returning. Nice 4 players to man the 4-5 slots. Burgess likely is a 10 minute guy next year with his Jr and Sr years open for a ton of time for him, glad to see he’s sticking around.

I agree. But no one will take him wounded so he has to be here.
Nah I’m pretty sure there are teams that would take him. He already said he’d be back. I only see 5 to 10 min max for him and the 5 is more likely. Potential is there but he needs to get 100%. No shame in resting for a season to let the body fully heal. This is his 3rd surgery in 4ish years I believe.

I can see him being good down the road. Taking a shirt this year would be best IMO. When he declared for Purdue he told a member of the 1974 team (guard) that he was impressed with the players at Purdue and knew this would be a lifelong friendship with a great group of guys. I assume many are still at Purdue...

Completely agree. RB can see the benefit of going the RS route with Trey. Had Trey played as a freshman, he would have had a nice senior season and a solid career. Trey may have transferred going into his third year had he been a junior rather than a sophomore, not being willing to wait around behind Zach, with only one year remaining. As is, he has a chance to go down as a Purdue legend and compete for a NC.

With Cluff, Trey, and Murphy gone, RB has an open path to a major role next season if he can get healthy and work on his body this season.

Besides saying Purdue was Big Man U in another article, he had the below to say in an interview (along what you said TJ):

Burgess committed to Purdue not to follow in Edey’s footsteps, but because of Purdue’s high academic reputation.

“It was a lot of things,” Burgess said. “A combination of great academics, great coaching staff and the fit with the team overall. No other school matched that.”

Said Price: “Raleigh is an excellent student-athlete. When Raleigh and his mother started researching colleges, they researched only very good academic and basketball schools: Stanford, Purdue, Virginia, etc. Education is very important to Raleigh and his family.”

I’ll be a little surprised if he doesn’t redshirt. The main reason not to redshirt him would be front court depth in the event of injury, but I really think that Painter will encourage him to save the year of eligibility.
