Expected to be ready for the season.
I wonder what was wrong with his leg. And when does anyone say it was an unsuccessful surgery? 😄
When did he hurt it, recently or was this during the season?
When it was done by Shelbourne?I wonder what was wrong with his leg. And when does anyone say it was an unsuccessful surgery? 😄
When they die.I wonder what was wrong with his leg. And when does anyone say it was an unsuccessful surgery? 😄
I saw him at the spring practice with C.J.
that could be why Painter said what he said about Burgess not being in proper conditioning to play college basketball at Purdue when he first arrived. it's easy to play high school basketball when you're 6'8 -6'10 with a lingering leg injury. . it's another thing to be able to play division 1 basketball with the same lingering leg injury. He previously had a compound leg fracture his junior year of high school. Haven’t figured out of it is from the same leg or not.
Wole, please refer to this thread THAT YOU STARTED that answers everything for you about burgess.that could be why Painter said what he said about Burgess not being in proper conditioning to play college basketball at Purdue when he first arrived. it's easy to play high school basketball when you're 6'8 -6'10 with a lingering leg injury. . it's another thing to be able to play division 1 basketball with the same lingering leg injury.
I noticed in his recruitment process he lost a star and his ranking declined in his senior year. could that have been due to his leg injury.
Coaches were singing his praises all last pre-season. I think it's fair to say we've not seen what this kid can do.
I would LOVE it if we redshirted him. Get healthy, get stronger, work on that stroke… then tear it up alongside Jakob Danielson in 2026-27…Let's hope injuries don't derail his career completely.
He's a freshman. Not really enough track record to worry about it.Let's hope injuries don't derail his career completely.
It’s all becoming clear now. He arrived at Purdue with lingering leg injuries that never really fully healed. Often times an athlete has two options - surgery or rest and physical therapy. It appears he is now going the surgery route. Redshirting this year is probably in his best interest. He’s going to miss a huge portion of of practice this summer and will need time to get back in playing shapeWole, please refer to this thread THAT YOU STARTED that answers everything for you about burgess.
What’s up with Burgess. ?
I know he’s just a freshman. But I keep reading his minutes are limited because he is not in playing shape and he just gets exhausted too quickly. Was he injured during his senior year or during the summer? And he’s recuperating? Or as a senior in high school did he just walk down the...purdue.forums.rivals.com
He'd also miss out on being a playing part of a possible final 4 team again. With an injury, or the new big guy isn't quite quick enough, yada yada, shit happens. If that works out, great. But I'd be busting ass to be part of that team. It’s all becoming clear now. He arrived at Purdue with lingering leg injuries that never really fully healed. You are one very strange dude. Self-awareness is not a strong suit for you. But keep posting all the crap you want, it's a free board. Just don't get pissy when you're called on said crap.Do I need to start calling you names dry dead fly and see how you like it? How many more threads do I need to destroy before you understand the meaning of calling somebody by their preferred name? If I wanted to be called Wole, I would have made that my name! So dry dead fly, do you have 88 legs or is that your IQ?
You say the most obvious things ever and things we all have said before lol. Stop acting like your ideas are original. You know I’m right! You’re just jealous. Pretty soon you’ll want to destroy my foreign made car

He had a compound leg fracture his junior year of high school. Not saying it is a record and haven’t confirmed if it is the same leg. I know big guys can have their careers derailed by leg injuries. Hoping that’s not the case. He's a freshman. Not really enough track record to worry about it.
i get it. But we also don't know if his problems now are related. If so, not "another" injury. He had a compound leg fracture his junior year of high school. For sure and I asked a few folks on if it being the same leg or different. If it is the same leg and a similar issue then I would be concerned.i get it. But we also don't know if his problems now are related. If so, not "another" injury.
And while stress fractures and bum knees can haunt a players career, recovering from a normal break is not usually in that category.
