Burgess can shoot it too

Gold and Black has videos out now on Catchings and Harris as well. All three videos were impressive, I thought. Assuming Catchings comes, which I think he will, this has the makings of a great class, especially if Harris joins them.
Don't know if catchings will be here but agree on harris. I really like him

Really nice shooting stroke. Seems to be more of a mobile, skilled big. I'm a fan.
It's the most perfect shooting form I've seen in a while. There's a commercial on CH-18 featuring Heide. It has Morton shooting in the background! OMG, he pushes the ball at the basket from about a foot in front of his nose.

Next year Purdue should have TKR, Furst, Berg, Burgess manning the middle, it makes losing out on Flory not a huge deal.
Flory dropped his list of final schools…..

Michigan
Duke
Kansas
Auburn

Feel Kansas might be front runner since he is close to Adidas and they are the only Adidas school left.

Agree another exciting class here possibly.

Been banging the Harris Drum for over a year. Fills it up and just as well gets after it in D. Player.

Hey @tjreese... Whose videos on how to shoot has he been watching???
Why I wasn't alerted to this...I don't know, but nothing showed up? Anyway, been buried but will try to read the thread tomorrow...but guessing based upon the question that answer is probably Ernie Hobbie ;)

You'll know immediately when you watch his shot!!!
In the short time I spent with him and Mike Robinson I could tell that not only was he good in helping with a shot, but a very nice man as well. He gave me his card and his personal phone and told me that if I ever had some questions to call and he might have some ideas. The video is what he covers and I can still hear him saying "no stance, no chance!" Basketball lost a good one when he passed... :(

Someone has told Burgess to freeze after his shot and check where his fingers point, what is the angle of his wrist, is his elbow above his eyebrow, are his feet where they left when he jumped.

AS you know some people can shoot without a lot of continual instruction, but others need to work at that muscle memory. Nobody was born a shooter though and even professionals touch-up their shot at times. It is never too late to become a better shooter and why that summer can be another whole season if the player works at it. When you see someone that looks the part, you know that player has had instruction..it wasn't by accident. BTW, I understand Nojel has "improved" his shot and now shoots right handed...and so it is never too late.

It will be interesting to see how much time Brian Waddell gets this year. Nobody is talking about him and "maybe" he has put in some significant practice. I hope his shot is better with a healthy leg. Years ago Al Rhoades had his team at a clinic when Jeff Gross (sp?) was a senior and there was an ABA player there and he said he never worried about squaring up before the shot as long as he was square when he landed...only person I heard that never worried about squaring up before...

When my son curled off an elbow pick, he left his feet before his outside leg came to square, but he always landed square. Shoulders square, foot still coming around.
If you get a chance to see the Basketball "ad" featuring Heide, note Morton shooting in the background ... it is AWFUL!!!!

Haha.....Lenny is going to have a field day with this....

I'll try to catch that. Kendall Stephens took a large stride curling to his left and even some straight on where he overstepped and had his right leg down way in front and almost ended up shooting sideways while at Purdue. Don't know if he fixed that or not?

In previous conversations he said he was friends with a player I played some pickup with decades ago. A shorter PG that played with Matt Waddell's brother-in-law that told him just how good Matt's brother-in-law was...and he was. They had a very fundamental coach and so Lenny's friend was probably drilled in a lot of areas.

This is a good read. Jay is telling the truth and a friend. IMO he was better than Matt as a high school player and Lenny has heard of him from Crawford his PG friend. Some might recognize a player in slide 70? ;)
