Book it! Once again Purdue is left looking like a fool. We will never be good again. Current administration is no better than the last. We are screwed. At least tickets will be cheap. Can't wait to hear everyone call me a troll for telling it like it is.

As I posted in another thread, the AD is floating out $3.5 million +. If Brohm left, talk is surrounding Joe Moorhead as a potential HC. In all honesty, I'd take a hard look at Moorhead being a better option than Brohm.

Might at least see how it plays out before drawing the worst conclusions. I agree that Brohm interviewing with Baylor could be worrisome but they have problems of their own.

What's the sell of moorhead > brohm?
Built a winner in the FCS and turned PSU in to a damn good offensive team this year. That's the PSU team who's QB averaged over 18 yards per throw and was a pretty dynamic offense. We could do a lot worse but not sure we could do a lot better right now.

I'll certainly take what I just saw out of PSU vs Wisconsin. That was fun!

While Moorhead may warrant consideration given everything else that has happened or is happening...if he indeed warranted a hard look or might be a better option than Brohm, then how in the world was he not already a candidate or looked at hard with consideration for the opening?

This is shaping up as so Purdue-esque at this point, where a ton of money was wasted on a search firm that seemingly failed miserably at doing what they were supposed to do, and a ton of precious time was wasted as well...it can't be said just yet that it is the case, but it sure is looking at the moment as it may indeed be the case.

How do we know he wasn't??

Every opening in the country you heard the same names; Herman, Fleck, Miles, Schiano, etc etc. This place was no different. Those are the names we discussed too.

Honestly, none of us on this board know shit, so, ya know. There's always that.

Just get sick of Purdue always falling short.

It's not just falling short. It's being the conferences hussy to smack around. If we were respectable enough to fall short I may just accept it. Purdue is like the skinny loser in the boxing ring getting knocked out on the first punch. When you look at Purdue's performance 80 percent of those games were lost within the first 4 minutes of the game hands down. Purdue won 3 big ten games in 4 years under Hazell. That's not falling short that is getting just embarrassed.

Completely disagree about your comment regarding the current administration. Burke completely striped all value out of the Purdue football program and no one wants to touch it now. Bobinski can't wave a magic wand and make that go away.

Oh did he ever. Burke had absolutely NO idea how to run a football team. He couldn't run a high school program right. Burke made Purdue look like the cooky geek squad out there. It was like a gigantic eyesoar. A centerpiece of beta male idiots. Here's the thing that gets me about Burke. Back when Drew Brees played, Purdue had this absolute eyesoar recruit killer with one look south endzone. It was the equivalent of asking a race car driver to race your car in Indy 500 and he comes to check out the goods and it's this old beater. And guess what? It's still there. That should tell you all we need to know about Burke. Burke did nothing but make ESPN smirk. What's worse is that Purdue trustees kept him on. They thought he was the man out there. Heads should of rolled right there. It is embarrassing and squandering what they've done. These administrators are squandering losers and these punks need run off that campus. All of them. Get these losers off the campus. They need held accountable. This is a multimillion dollar operation that affects the operations of the entire campus in one way or another. It effects enrollment. These fraudsters need run off the campus. Look at what Alvarez did at Wisconsin. He did like 18 laps around Burke before Burke could run 100 yards. Alvarez made Burke look like he couldn't make the geek squad at Best Buy. Just embarrassing.

eyesoar twice... that's intent.

Burke was a SWIMMER; the ultimate "faux-team" sport. What COULD he now about competitive TEAM sports. His administration sucked the life out of both Keady AND Tiller. They got tired of beating there heads against the wall for that smirking, self-righteous SOB. He rode both of the revenue sports, bleeding them dry so he could field High Altitude BB stacking teams. The 2 moneymakers were given NO money for staff or facilities, so the coaches started mailing it in.

Burke's biggest mistake among many was building s swimming pool, golf course, baseball field, softball field, and soccer field when the football program needed the investment. I'm all for the non-rev sports having nice facilities, hell my own son played college baseball. But you fix the non-rev only AFTER football and basketball are taken care of. Now we're gonna fix the S end zone, no wait, we need a performance complex, no wait, Ross-Ade needs lights...that is just horrible, horrible planning on Burke's part. And now we're paying for it, literally and figuratively. Did I mention that's horrible planning?

Burke couldn't follow two simple rules.

1. Make sure you have a first class football operation.

2. Don't forget rule 1.

If Brohm goes to Baylor, how is this Bobinski's fault?

The Fort Wayne writer uses specific words about Brohm and Baylor, words that imply that even if Baylor offered him huge money, he wouldn't go there.....I wonder if this writer has a source from Brohm's camp.

If that's the case his "listening tour" is definitely about trying to leverage other programs for more moolah. That wouldn't make me a fan of his. Having said this, from what I understand, he isn't a political animal like a lot of coaches. Which seem to be contradictory.

Lol obviously some of you haven't heard of leverage.... Baylor is toxic as hell right now. Not even the smu coach wanted in on that
Right
So unless there's another team interview, i wouldn't see Baylor as providing that much leverage to compete with
We would be in good shape unless he just chose to stay and wait it out for something else in the future (Peterson/Boise st style)

If I had the opportunity to pit to potential employers for my services and drum up my pay, I'd do it in heart beat. I mean if he was to fizzle he could set up hid family easily for the rest of his life. I mean Hazel if he played his cards right could be set for the rest of his days based off of one good MAC season thanks to Morgan.

And why did their deal of Chad Morris fall apart so fast....he went from their only target to him walking away? Could be some upcoming issues with NCAA

This is exactly why IU hired Tom Allen. Fear of striking out. I still think Purdue will upgrade from Hazell.

Stop with the damn logic. This is a board for overreacting and bashing anything that doesn't go our way.

Burke was a sniveling geek with a power trip attitude. the one thing he did, so far as we know is he kept the program clean. I'll give him that. But he made Purdue's team look like a bunch of gimps. Facilities, funding, image on TV. Burke did none of this until the bitter end.

Which is why the change was made mid season...to see what type of coach can make Purdue move in the right direction again. Parker showed that there is talent to compete when coached right.

That's not in question but nobody is going to be happy if we only improve from 2-3 wins a season to 4-5. I'd rather have had one more year of Hazell than sign up for four years of mediocre-at-best football.

Nothing personal.....but "mediocre" is huge step up, from the Darrell Hazell program.

Yes I thought that's what I was saying. I'm just saying if we are sitting here in four years and haven't been to a bowl still, nobody here is going to be satisfied or happy. I'd sooner sign up for one more year of 2-10 than four years of 4-8 if we can't hire a coach that can deliver better than that right now.

If nobody wants the damn job, then go get Briles with a zero tollerence (no buy-out) clause, and mainly performance based. We already blew our chance with Petrino because he had an affair. I bet no one in Louisville cares about that now, and they are winning.
Someone is going to get Briles. If we are considered the armpit of college football jobs, I say we get him.

Klieman's record at North Dakota State is very impressive.

No way, even his alma mater, Houston has come out and denied he will be a candidate.

Briles was a Title IX mandatory reporter and recent reports indicate he did not. He needs a lawyer.
