Brohm at Center Grove today

Wonder if he is speaking with these two 2017 players:
Russ Yeast: CB 3 star (39th CB in the country) (verbal Louisville)
https://n.rivals.com/content/prospects/2875

Titus McCoy: ATH NR (verbal Indiana State)

Also, 2018 has a decent number of kids still uncommitted as the top two players are headed to UM and ND right now (both 4 star). There is some top heavy talent that Brohm needs to bring in from the Indy area to start bolstering the program in the state again.

Just heard that Coach Brohm is at Center Grove today. The first step he made into that school was probably more time in the school than the previous two Purdue coaches have combined. And CG has only produced kids at Stanford, Vandy, and IU over the past 2 years.
The fact that he's already called CJ Hayes (and maybe more recruits) And now at an Indiana hs, tells me all I need to know. The guy is digging in. Fast. He was just announce Monday! Could have easily taken this week to rest and transition but obviously not the case. Love it.

That is sad that Hazell didn't recruit Indy well. I read yesterday that he didn't even visit High Schools close to WL that had talent. Very happy to have coach Brohm at Purdue.

Face it....Parker did a great job stepping in for DH an MB liked his effort and saw improvements with on the field performance. I also hope BRHOM keeps him.

That was the writing on the wall from day one with this clown..........there wasn't one damn thing this guy did well....right down to wearing his crunched up cap........and of course the record showed it..............

Nice to hear BRHOM talk about recruiting the three hundred mile radius to Purdue and going south for speed. Where are all of those who screamed that we had to recruit TX if were going to be successful recruiting.
For the past seven years I have heard numerous accounts of how Purdue has shot them self in the foot with talented recruits that have been within the 300 mile radius.....

As for retaining Parker. it was said Hazell's biggest demise was his inability to recruit quality athletes.. and since Parker was Hazell's best and most active recruiter, and we see the fruits of his labor, I think it is best that Parker not return or be placed in a position responsible for recruiting . I'd like our coaches to be a lot better recruiters and set their sites a lot higher than Parker. it's time for a clean sweep.

Brohm is big in Kentucky. Parker I believe was a big hit in Tennessee. Could make for a great pipeline. If they could somehow get that Yeast kid to flip he would be our best recruit. Kid is awesome. Get up to cathedral and work on their two superstar juniors.

Parker could only do so much. The Haze micromanaged every single detail of the process. He refused to offer coy cronk when shoop was begging him to.

Would be surprised if he were trying to steal recruits from Louisville.

Parker could not sell Haze to Indiana coaches and players. My promate in college, who's son played at UoL and is now playing in the NFL said that Haze was paper thin on football knowledge and savy and the H.S. Coaches sniffed it out early and often.
Remember those poor car salesman that worked for Dodge,Crysler,Plymouth in the 70s.....

Not offering Cronk was a huge mistake. I'm not sold on Parker's connections or success in Tennessee. I remember we were this close to signing the Tennessee Gatorade player of the year running back, but alas, he chose Illinois. Admittedly, he was Purdue's best recruiter. He was responsible for recruiting WR Hayes, WDE Mason, OL Tusha, and TE Stickford this year.. He's also credited with recruiting Sindelar and Jones. But since his arrival at Purdue, Parker has only recruited two players from Tennessee: WDE Mason, and TE Hopkins.

Hazell ran us into the ground in every facet of football. I am so glad the joker is gone. It is inexcusable that he did not recruit Indiana. I hope Brohm becomes the best friend of every High School coach in the state.

Te Tennessee kid was Vaughn. Signed with Illinois because they offered his friend and we wouldn't. Dumb.

Friend is in the 2 deeps now too. Hee haw

Kinda like Dawson/Trice? Sure glad we didn't cave and offer Trice to try to get Dawson.

I also remember Hazell dumped the RB from NJ one week before signing day just so he'd have a scholarship to offer Vaughn. And because he was so late in taking back the offer, the kid from NJ was unable to find another Div 1 scholarship.

Let's just say Brohm knows what he needs to do to create a pipeline of players. Brohm already has great contacts in Kentucky, Georgia and Florida. But to be successful at Purdue, and also sell tickets, he needs to also recruit quality players from Indiana and Illinois. The stadium is going to be filled with people from Indiana wanting to watch Indiana players. Center Grove is a great place to start to rebuild those bridges that were previously burned and then totally ignored.

That's why MB1 was wrong to allow Hazell to coach in the bowl game.

Who was the RB from NJ?

Unlike the Haze this guy is earning his $$$. I sense a killer instinct :) a desire to be the best. I have a feeling he will exceed expectations. This hire gives me much confidence in M-Bob

I couldn't agree more. For those who said it didn't matter if Haze coached Kent St or not, this shows how having to focus on one thing and one place can and should pay dividends. Haze had plenty of faults but Burke allowed him to juggle bowl game, recruiting, building a staff, and adjusting to moving cities. Brohm has been hired since Monday and has already hired a few assistants and is visiting local high schools.

Says a great deal about his work ethic and character! I'm going to miss hearing "got to review the game film" to know more about ___ (insert coaching deficiency here) .
