Can’t believe how much UL is struggling this season. On the plus side, at least he has a really good freshman RB so Mockobee won’t be as tempted to transfer there…

Ok?

He’s 5-3 and the 3 losses were to ranked teams, 2 that are likely playoff teams.

Schedule isn’t as tough these last few weeks for them. 8-4 likely. What a rough spot!

Many people predicted Brohm would go to Louisville and average 8 wins against their basic schedule of easy teams. And his record would look much like tiller at Purdue or the Iowa coach. It looks like he is on target to win 8 games. You say he is struggling? He’s basically doing the expected!

Brohm isn’t going to win any championships, but he will bring a winning season. For some people that is enough. For others that’s worthy of criticism!

On path for 8 wins and you say he’s struggling. Louisville will probably end up in the top 25. But he’s struggling! Ok, sure! I’d love to see a Purdue coach struggling!

He left, who cares.
Obviously the guy who started this thread. This is what happens when Purdue doesn’t play. People feel compelled to post about something totally not related and then people argue with the poster! I believe I called it several days ago saying this board will be busier than ever with posts even though it was a bye week!

brohm had the perfect setup when he left Purdue. If he can't excel under the circumstances he inherited at UL then he never will.

Brohm should not have been hired. Bobinski knew from Day One that U of L was his ultimate destination. He owned a home in Louisville during the entire time that he coached at W. KY. and Purdue, and that's where he moved back to when he returned to U of L.

Who, exactly, would have been a better hire in November 2016, to take over a program that had won a TOTAL of THREE B1G games in the previous four seasons?

And if we are limiting THIS search to coaches who have Purdue Football as their destination job, who would that be ?

I didn't say we were limiting the search to coaches who have Purdue Football as their destination job. However, we hired a guy who openly said that HIS destination job was the lowest academic skank in a basketball conference, and he already had a house there to move into.

And regarding who else we could have hired, Coach Prime was hired by Colorado two years ago. The Buffs made the top 25 this week.

This from the guy "That Knows Ball" but refuses to give examples of who he thinks should replace Walters. Where is YOUR list? LOL

Brohm said all along he was going back to UL. I agree, we should have never wasted the time and money on a guy that was going to dump us at the first chance he got. He and UL deserve each other.

Unfortunately we are in a temporary world. Coaches come and go not honoring the duration of their contracts. Teams now just rent a player for a year maybe two. I don’t like it, but that’s the way it is.

So you’re advocating that in 2016, we should have hired Deion Sanders, head coach at “Triple A Academy”, without a single solitary second of college football coaching experience?

Who should we have hired back in 2016 instead of Brohm?

No, re-read what I said. We should have hired Coach Prime T*W*O years ago instead of a DC with no HC experience.

I don't think we can do better than Brohm, but I will be happy to be proven wrong.
Do you understand the mess that Brohm left us with? Not only that, when he quit he tried to flip players that Purdue had paid him to recruit to switch to U of L. The man is a sh1thead.

I recall the mess he inherited and was glad for his work to bring us back, even to the btn championship game.

Everybody is stealing players left and right now, not just Brohm. He brought some with him, and then took some with him.

I understand that everybody is stealing players left and right now. Listen up this time, OK? Brohm stole recruits that Purdue had paid him to recruit for Purdue. Do you comprehend the difference?

Listen up? Are you pretending to be a gangster? That is pretty funny so thanks.

He also stole players that WKU paid him to recruit and coach for WKU. Now do you comprehend the difference, which is zero?

We're talking ethics here. Brohm could have recruited and flipped recruits from hundreds of other schools. But those that Purdue paid him to recruit to Purdue should have been off limits.

Maybe you are right, but that is not the case anymore.

Look at iu's mercenary team, and in hoops its mercenaries in clown pants - which would be a good meme for somebody with meme-creating skills.

Ethics ? In college football ??? 😂

Were you this outraged when Brohm brought Hilltoppers up to Purdue?
