Dude, most of the founding fathers owned 100s of slaves each including jackasses like Thomas Jefferson and George Washington.

And Kamala Harris' family. They were big time slave owners in Jamaica.

It's not that people aren't aware of the slave trade in the US and what that meant, it's that the slave trade in the US has zero impact on the ability of blacks to succeed in today's US.
Tim Scott of SC is the perfect example.

Anyone who refers to the slave trade today as a hurdle is just playing the victim and looking for excuses.

Those were the standards of then. The standards of the world. No need to cry about it. Even they knew it was wrong. Jefferson himself wrote about it. And anyone on this site would have owned slaves as a wealthy and powerful man. White, black etc. Didn't matter what race you were, if you had the money, you had slaves.

It was part of the economic engine of the time. It was not seen as a moral or ethical issue.

In 200 years, people might look back at today's economy and thinks it's immoral or unethical to be able to get rich trading in stocks or crypto.

I still do not know why you keep bringing up Kamala Harris' slave owning ancestors who were white and Irish. You act like it's breaking news. We all in this forum have the potential of ancestors owning slaves including myself. So what is your stupid point you are trying to make.

I know that you never heard of this black woman named Angela Davis. She was one of those Black Panther'ish civil rights activists in the 60s and 70s. She had white ancestors that owned slaves. So now what?

Give blacks and other minorities that have the brains and work ethic an equal chance to compete in the work place or education that otherwise would have been over looked by the status quo of whites over looking these individuals.

So, you don't think your buddy Justice Clarence Thomas or Dr. Ben Carson should have gotten into Yale because of affirmative action? Should they give back their Yale degree?
