Apparently Smith's valuation has shown significant growth (about 1/2 way down the attached article). Well deserved. I hope he is driving a nice truck or SUV.

At 6', do you think he will stick around for his Senior year or turn professional?

He has crazy game on offense, definitely NBA ability but who is he gonna guard? Some team desperate for PG play might take a flyer on him but I expect him to be back.

Very happy for Braden and he does drive a truck albeit an ugly Tesla Cybertruck.

I think he will put his name in the draft but ultimately return for his senior year.

I have to believe he would receive more money from nil contracts than the NBA.

I do believe like many other Purdue players, he will enter the draft and attend the combine so that he will be able to receive their insight on areas his game needs improvement.

But I truly believe he will remain at Purdue all 4 years.

Something that nobody has speculated. Maybe he’ll transfer to Duke to win a championship. That has as much chance as him leaving for the nba. Duke could offer him more money than Purdue could. It all comes down to loyalty or money.

I’m not sure why you people even bring the subject up and what you expect the replies to be. If I didn’t know you better, I’d say these types of threads are nothing but click bait. I can make posts to generate just as many stupid replies.

I thought he might well be playing his last year, and that still could happen with a big NCAA showing.
That said, his defense just isn't there to overcome his lack of height at that level. I think he'll probably need to show more there to get drafted and that might be next year given his difficulties so far. He's not "bad" but he's just ok and not "good" and he's getting picked on by elite quick guys. EVERYONE is going to be trying to wear him down so it's not going to get any easier. Hopefully the frosh continue to develop and can take more of the D role as the season wears on.

Had me In the first half, not going to lie!

He’s not transferring to Duke.

If he is not guaranteed 1st round (I don’t think he will this year), then he ain’t leaving Purdue.

Teams have been trying to wear him down since his freshman year….

Unless he averages closer to 20 ppg with almost 10 assists a game and 6+ boards on 40%+ from 3, He will test the nba waters and be back for his senior year and collect more NIL. If he and everyone else is back, we should be a front runner to win a NC in 2026.

I can't believe I'm saying this because my disdain for recruiting Smith was well known a few years ago, but man, has that kid served me the biggest helping of crow I've ever had. I couldn't have been more wrong (happily). And I do agree, if Painter can find the missing piece for next year, whatever that might be, Purdue will be the favorite to win the NC.

Did that article say Mgbako is worth more than Braden? If so, the entire thing is invalidated.

The most stupid reply of the week. You complain that you think it's click bait, you click it, then spend a half-hour responding to it. lol
