I like most assume he is gone. But why hasn't he announced? Could that Kansas game of stung? He is a competitive guy. Is he thinking what could be with next years team if he came back? 20 years ago he woulda been a great nba player..But the way it is now, with more athletic over bruisers is there a chance he comes back after a bitter taste?

Staying is a mistake. His stock can't improve any more than being a contender as national player of the year with the other accolades. He isn't going to get any taller or more athletic. Now is his best option to go and staying would be a huge mistake. Wanting him to stay is selfish. If for some reason his draft grade is still outside of the first round, I think that would be the only way that he stays. That is why he hasn't signed an agent yet. Get an honest appraisal and see who all signs with an agent ahead of him. It may hurt our chances with Ondigo/McCoy (who I think is an absolute long shot) or it may help them. Only time will tell.

...also, not sure he ever signs with an agent. When your adoptive father is an agent, why would you? He knows all he needs to know and gets the direction he needs without leaving his living room.

More Courtsensetwo! BRILLIANT.

He does the IU hillbilly act better than the real thing. Hats off to him because he is a genius.
As much as you love courtdense, I am pretty convinced now that you two are one in the same.

I admit to having some hope also with the SILENCE. Silence is Golden. I personally think he is a lottery pick and should hold off until he is told that he is one and will be taken in the Top 14 picks. A lottery pick is guaranteed a lot more money than late 1st round / early 2nd round pick. I also understand upper class men get a lot less love in the NBA draft (which absolutely makes no sense to me). I'd much rather take a known quantity than some one and done kid. However, they get paid the big bucks to draft, not me... Frank K is a perfect example of playing all 4 years and he is really picking up steam in the NBA. I truly hope Biggie crushes it in the NBA and am hoping there is a way, my Clippers can get this GEM. The only 2 others, I've seen fight for rebounds like Biggie are Dennis Rodman and Reggie Evans. They made careers out of it. Although, I see Biggie having a better career (Zach Randolph like) than both of them.

Biggie is gone and there shouldn't even be a thread for it. He is going to ring the bling bling and sing sing sing while driving that lambo thing

Arguably, one could make a strong case for Rodman as a HOF'er one day. Multiple titles and considered one of the best defenders of his era and one of the best rebounders of all time. If it weren't for his antics both on and off the court (and his trip to North Korea), I'd say he was a shoe in personally.

Actually, Biggie has said that he will make his intentions know tomorrow afternoon (no, this isn't a Booker joke). There is a tweet by him and also an article on jconline.

If he is announcing now I would have to assume he's going to say he's gone. If a player of his caliber were staying he would go through the workout process before deciding to come back. If he's announcing early, he's announcing that he's going.

He's also doing it in Ft. Wayne rather than at Purdue. If Biggie was making the announcement at Purdue, it would be much more likely that he'd decided to return.

When Big Dog announced that he was skipping his senior year, he held the press conference at his old high school in Gary. You don't make a major announcement at your current university to say you're leaving.

He has declared for the draft but has not signed with an agent. I would say 99.9% he signs with an agent. Every mock draft except 3 or 4 has him in the 20 to 30 range. One I saw has him at 10 and another at 45. Very, very doubtful on either of those. Think I saw one with him at about 15 or 16. Seen a couple with him going to Golden State or San Antonio.

Based on how every draft ends up working out I see him getting pushed out of the first round. There is always some dipshit team making a surprise "way to early" pick that pushes a bunch of guys into the 2nd round. Happens every year.

Why would he announce he's hired an agent now? His adopted father is one. He has all the advice he needs throughout the process, something very few players have the luxury of.

Agreed on all counts, however I'd say that the titles were mainly because of 2 other guys or should I say one... ;)

Yep there is no reason to hire an agent since he lives with one. Great thing for Biggie to have too but I still think he is gone and it makes sense for him to head to the NBA if he's a first rounder.

We just need to accept he is gone and wish him the best of luck. He did great things while at Purdue and had a phenomenal season.

I've made this comment before, so I hope I'm not a broken record:

I get the attention paid to Swanigan's decision. He is obviously the headliner. But, IMO, the much more significant questions for Purdue are what Vincent Edwards and Isaac Haas decide to do.

what Vincent Edwards and Isaac Haas decide to do.
They'll test the waters like last year and get feedback, but I can't imagine they would bolt for the NBA. VE is the only one really close to being 'ready' and he still has things to work on.

I guess Haas could be taken for his size and potential, but he has a lot of glaring holes that I think all of us have pointed out throughout the season at one point or another.

They will probably do the same thing they did last year and go through the process to see where they are at. This year's draft is loaded. I would expect them to be projected even lower than last year, to no fault of their own.

So when the news break about them testing the waters don't everyone lose your shit over it because they will be returning to Purdue after that process.

there isn't even a small chance that either haas or edwards gets taken in the first round.. and theres a very, VERY small chance either even gets drafted at all... neither are gone

Draft Projections:

NBADraft.net: 25 to Utah
CBS SPorts: Places Biggie 21st overall in their rankings
DraftExpress.com: 28 to the Lakers
MyNBADraft.com: 22 to Toronto
Sport Illustrated: Not drafted in first round (January 2017)
HoopsHype.com: 29 to San Antonio (compared to Ike Diogu)
NBA.com: Places Biggie as the 28th best prospect

I think this holistic look at Biggie's stock places him around 25th to 30th which is where many of us on here feel he would go. I don't see Biggie staying and improving his stock another 10-15 places to ensure the bigger checks in the lottery portion of the draft.

In my mind, the likelihood that Biggie will go to the NBA has dropped from 99% to maybe 95%.

Here's Lonzo Ball's quote from his press conference:

"That was my final game for UCLA," he said, per L. Jason Smith of 92.9 FM ESPN Radio. "I appreciate the fans."

Here's the quote from Biggie:

"I'm going to see how that goes," Swanigan said on the podcast, "but I will be entering my name in the draft."

Notice the difference?

Again, it seems highly likely that he goes, but it doesn't seem like he's absolutely made up his mind.

I agree. I was 99% sure all season he'd be gone. But how the season ended, in addition to how good we can be next year, lowers my confidence to about 95%

Maybe he likes college life. Maybe he likes being the big fish in the small pond. Maybe he likes playing with this current group of guys. Maybe he wants to bring a FF to Purdue.

It's likely that none of the above outweigh the chance to play in the NBA, but I don't think it's a sure thing he's gone anymore.

Barnes doesn't have any NBA clients. Not sure he's exactly the best idea for an NBA player as an agent.

I suspect it is just covering his bases if something odd happened, but he could be on more basketball magazine covers than anybody if he returned.

I've been 99% certain that Biggie is gone, and I continue to be pretty convinced. However--and if this has been covered above, my apologies--I'm downgrading my certainty to 94%.

My reasoning is that, going by age, he's still one of the younger players projected to go in the first round (I'm referencing DraftExpress here). For reference, Kansas's Josh Jackson is actually older than Biggie, despite their respective collegiate classifications.

Yes, I still think Caleb is going pro, but I wouldn't be QUITE as shocked to hear he's staying as I would have been a few days ago.
