I don't believe the "best team" thing at all. Barely winning against Minnesota (now not when they went off in Mackey) and RUTGERS in OT is not something to flaunt. Also, Michigan led the whole game until the end when some 3's went Wisconsin's way. Their offense is less than impressive. But back to Happ -- yes a lot better defensively than Biggie.Happ is much better defensively and is the best player on what has so far been the best team. I think he has a case. That said I still think Swanigan should get the nod if the season ended right now.
Oh I think he is the MVP of Wisconsin right now 100%. But I have not been impressed with Wisconsin in any game this year. Just doing the minimum to get the W against some teams. I will say, they are more mature than Purdue and more "consistent." Whether that be consistently scraping by teams. I guess a Win is a Win.Happ consistently gets great passes for lay-ups and he is good at making them. I'd argue that he is no more valuable on Wisky than Koenig or Hayes.

maybe if we didnt already beat them by double digits...Happ is much better defensively and is the best player on what has so far been the best team. I think he has a case. That said I still think Swanigan should get the nod if the season ended right now.
I love Haap as a player...think he is great. However, Biggie , the warrior will get the nod IMO. I'm reminded of Brad Miller in Haap, but who does double doubles like Biggie? I'd start my team with Biggie, but wouldn't lose a lot of sleep if Haas was forced on meOkay, maybe I am biased but I just don't see the comparison. Happ is a good player, don't get me wrong, but I don't think anyone can beat out Swanigan for B1G POY at this point. Biggie brings three point shooting and stretches the floor, something Happ can't do.
maybe if we didnt already beat them by double digits...
It's POTY not POTG.
Can Haap shoot? I really don't knowBiggie by far right now as a college 4/5. Happ at the NBA level where he can play 3/4.
If Wisconsin beats Purdue he can be Happ, but for now he is HaapIt's Happ, not Haap, you hip?

Well, sometimes it haapensEither way, it appears Indiana's remaining chances to pull out this game are hapless.
And if more than one...another would "not" be unhaapythen one is unhappy....
He has no case over Swanigan...he is a very good all-around player, but, he is not near the dominant player that Swanigan is, and, quite simply, he is not as good a player as Swanigan is. Nor do I believe that Wisconsin is the "best" team...best record...but I think Purdue is better...and if MD bigs actually contribute in the fashion that they did yesterday, they are better as well.Happ is much better defensively and is the best player on what has so far been the best team. I don't see any discussion of Happ being a National Player of the Year candidate, which Biggie is a serious candidate. Could it happen that Swanigan lose Big Ten POY and win the National POY? With the exposure Swanigan is getting, I would assume it should not be close in voting for Big Ten POY.
MD bigs were allowed to be very physical which can negate an inside gameHe has no case over Swanigan...he is a very good all-around player, but, he is not near the dominant player that Swanigan is, and, quite simply, he is not as good a player as Swanigan is. I don't foresee that scenario Happ-ening. I could see Happ getting Big Ten DPOY.
Happ does have a chance...a good one even...at B1G DPOTY...Mathias has made a case though also, which is incredibly hard to believe given the player that he was at that end when he arrived at Purdue.I don't foresee that scenario Happ-ening. I could see Happ getting Big Ten DPOY.

Beside his stats...his example is priceless!Any coach who would take Happ over Swanigan should be fired immediately. Swanigan is pretty much guaranteed 10/10 and likely to get 20/10. Every. Game. He is a power forward that last I checked was shooting over 50% from 3 on the SEASON. He is a once in a generation player for us and has an outstanding work ethic. Yes, turnovers are an issue but his rebounding ability is phenomenal. Wouldn't trade him for anyone in the country except....nope. No one.

In some haaphazard manner Haap might get it, which would make bucky haapy and Biggie and the realists unhaapy. However, outside of some haaphazard manner, Biggie should get it making all of us haapy and Haap unhaapy. Haapiness is rarely found on both sides of the coin. There is no win-win scenario. Haap will either be haapy or unhaapy.

I watch. He gets great passes from Koenig and makes a lot of layups.
Thank you, Blondie. I needed that.Reading that quickly will make you slaphappy.

Happ has taken 1 shot outside the paint in his entire collegiate career....1! He is also an atrocious free throw shooter. How that translates to an NBA 3 or 4 is beyond me.Biggie by far right now as a college 4/5. Happ at the NBA level where he can play 3/4.

He is shooting under 50% from the FT line and has only made one shot outside of the paint in his college career. Soooo no he cannot shoot. Can Haap shoot? I really don't know
