Our biggest game of the year so far, against a ranked opponent, having lost 4 in a row to them and we're laying a typical stinker in big game situations. Shit.

If you are a PU sports team, you crap the bed in a big game. It's what they do. If you want to save 15% on your car insurance, you call GEICO. It's what you do.

It's like having to live through a certain character dying (for those who saw The Force Awakens) every day!

Cut the woe is me sh!t this early in the season. This was a winnable game and we didn't do it. The team and season has a millions reasons to be optimistic. Now, if this happens in the first/2nd round in March, I'm with you.

Cubs of the Big Ten, unfortunately.

What a loss. I stopped watching the score once we were up 17 or so in the first half. I check again an hour later, and we're down!?! Yikes. Davis had the worst game I can remember.

This. It's what we do. People will blow this one off, just like the Butler game, but it's a pattern. The bigger the game, the more we prove we don't belong. I'll continue to hope to be proven wrong.

It's why the large majority of Purdue fans are alumni. People without an association with the university aren't fans because time and time again they disappoint in big games. Your average Indiana resident isn't going to want to follow a team that never breaks through and is a big reason why Purdue doesn't enjoy the support that many other Indiana teams do.

I'm alumni so I'm linked to this misery until they plant me in the ground.

Did you see the last game at Wisconsin? Open the Big on the road at Wisky, and win? I'm sure you called that one...........come on now

Well, actually we make the Wisky game close too. Had an 11 pt lead with 5 minutes and got close until Matthias hit those 2 3-pointers. With the talent on this team, you just don't see a complete 40 minute game out of them. I know all teams have good and bad spots in each game, but ours seems to be more from carelessness (turnovers and launching ill advised 3 pointers). It's a troubling sign.

This is exactly the formula. A big win or maybe a win we shouldn't get on the road, then shit the bed in a situation where we should win.

All this means is that we have to steal one on the road we didn't expect to win. We can do it. I guarantee IA will lose somewhere to someone they have no business losing to. It's a long season.

Losing happens to everyone. Losing like this certainly doesn't. Keep drinking the Kool-aid.
And you keep being the "fans" that Mount was so proud of at halftime............"support this team" I think he said

Many of said petty much this early on. We'd lose one we shouldn't and win one we shouldn't. Most seemed to have three UW game as a loss and this one a win... so it looks like we got that scenario out of the way :D

Automatic, no. Win, yes.

I've been a fan for almost 60 years and an alumni for 50 yet for some reason losses like last night still surprise me. I'm ok with it today the reason for this loss is pretty clear, we don't have a legitimate BIG PG. Thompson is awful. I've seen some good times for Purdue but losing a game we led by19 is not something you expect. At least I have limited expectations for the rest of the season. Third or fourth in the Big 10 and lose in the 2nd or 3rd round of the tourney.

Iowa is not ranked? You can lose any game if you only play one half. Not the end of the world. Some of this crap on here is laughable.

As I said, being a lifelong Purdue fan is hard. We are the only team in the country that can lose a 13 point lead in 3 minutes, or a 9 point lead in 50 seconds. We are the only team in the country that gets a flagrant on an obvious flop...the refs looked at the replay and couldn't discern an obvious flop? Haas's elbow didn't even connect.

Abugabby, I sincerely apologize and eat my crow. I was a little harsh when this was brought up in December, but we choked. I'm not going to say much right now, but when I let my emotions settle, I'll be back to give my thoughts on the year. Hope you are well.
