Maryland up big on Illinois 29-10 about midway through first half. Illini shooting is frigid so far, and the Terps are 5/7 from deep with Rice hitting 4/5.

9/11 from the FT line very good too and they got Ivisic in foul trouble quickly. If I were nitpicking, only 12/30 from inside the arc and gave up a couple of second chances.

Of course, that's like kicking out Marilyn Monroe because she brought potato chips.

All in all, yeah - very impressive from a Maryland team that could do some damage the way it is playing.

Illini are the quintessential Russian Roulette bracket participant....I don't know how you confidently project any result with them.....good or bad. They do have Morez Johnson Jr. back from a wrist injury.

Payne is definitely tough but a bit of a head case. Very foul prone as well.

But I agree on one point...he would've helped us this year with post depth.

Geronimo off the bench with 11 tonight. When was the last time he scored in double figures? I had to look it up. It only happened one other time this year, a 10 point effort against Washington in early January.
