Auburn in Music City bowl

This is actually great IMO. If you'd told me at the beginning of the year that We were would be playing Auburn in a a bowl, I'd say NO WAY would that even be possible !

This is GREAT EXPOSURE for the program!
As long as it does not turn out like the 2012 bowl game in Dallas, it will be great exposure. We win and we are heading very positively into 2019, especially with our recruiting class.

The team/coach we have isn't even comparable to that year. Other then the Minnesota debacle i don't think brohm has ever been blown out. I wouldn't be surprised if we get the W.

This is nothing like 2012. We were playing after firing Danny Hope and were being led by a bunch of assistants who were updating their resumes.

It won't, because that staff had 9 toes out the door looking for new jobs after Hope got canned. No game planning, no real practices.

We've got Brohm.

Brohm also thought that winning a bowl would help heading positively into the next year( he said ) - until this year 0-3!

We have Rondale with a year of experience, and he has help coming next year. I also like our schedule better next year.

It's funny to see some of the Auburn fans in the comments on their Twitter page of bowl announcement.
They are whining and complaining about playing Purdue and wanting Mahlzahn fired, etc. I guess when you're preseason top 10 you'd be a little salty.
I guess if their players come with the same attitude, we put our foot on their neck and beat them into the dust while they're down. I know they had bigger goals but if they don't have enough pride to play hard then they deserve to have us beat them by a ton

Auburn sounds a lot like Kansas Sate did before the 1998 Alamo Bowl.

It does have the makings of the K State game. With opponent whining why they aren’t in a higher seeded bowl against better competition. Hopefully, we have some playmakers back and plug the hole left by Lorenzo Neal being out. We’ll see...I like our chances. Unlike other years, I wonder if a redshirt or two might see some action if they are close to ready?

Interesting on that note, I caught Brian Kelly on ESPN radio this morning. He was actually talking about the redshirt rule and how it might give him a chance to get some playing time in the semi-final game for some players who haven't played in 4 games yet. I'm surprised a team that isn't playing a glorified exhibition game would say that, but I'm sure all the other ones are.

According to someone on a general message board, Auburn's OC has left to possibly join Les Miles at Kansas. Don't know if it's effective before the bowl game.

Most of the Auburn fans on their boards seem to think this is a good thing that the OC is gone. They think that Gus M. is going to call the offense in the bowl game.

Honestly don't know if that is better or worse.

Yeah the new redshirt rule opens that up to allow redshirts to play without burning their year up. Surprised that any team in the BCS games would play redshirt freshmen unless one of three things happened: 1)They progressed to a superior level over starter. 2) Covering for an injured player. 3) Senior is sitting it out to not be injured for Draft day. I would think if you were in the BCS series, sitting out would be a missed opportunity that you'll never get a do over for that again.

Stidham will play only if he concludes that playing against Purdue defense can improve his resume. Hopefully he signs with an agent prior to Music City Bowl. He has the kind of arm that could riddle our makeshift defense.

Maybe he knows that Clemson is going to sexually assault them so get some young guys some time?

I don't disagree but Locke played well against us and some NFL draft experts pick Stidham to go in first 2 rounds ahead of Locke. I would much prefer to face his backup on 12/28

My two cents being down here in the thick of it. Obviously all of my buddies are LSU or nothing. They all like Purdue because of Drew and I. (wink)

I don’t watch much SEC football but several of them have told me that if PU can stop the run, PU will smoke them.
