Something like 6 of their new players have names like Petrovic, Stojakovic, Mirkovic, Ivisic. The Illinois fans are really into it. Like REALLY into it.

Why wouldn't they be? Half of Chicago is Polish or Mexican. Some of the nicest people I've ever met. We all put our pants on one leg at a time. The rest is all a load of crap and irrelevant.
I'm remembering how I felt (overwhelmed with joy) when Purdue ladies golf won the NCAA championship. Most of those players were from other countries. Folks need to let this alone.
If ILL did nothing illegal or wrong then this is silly as every kid deserves a shot regardless of their name or country origin.

No disrespect to the OP but I assume and expect Purdue student fans to be far too intelligent to ever stoop to that level.
We should hope! Purdue students (and fans) in general should elevate our expectations and behavior as we are consistently becoming a reoccurring top 10 team. As such, we should expect more from our program and in turn, more from the fans to cheer like we belong here.
Though, nothing wrong with an occasional "IU SUCKS" cheer.
Ill just one of several teams that made a LOT of high profile signings. For all our hopes and thoughts that we are somehow unique, there are other teams with just as much talent or even more. Until we butt heads we are living on hopes.
No question, in this era teams will be "loading up" every year. The key is/will be to load up with what is needed and blends with what you already have. I think that is where PU is unique for next year. Having potentially (2) all-american players matched with players from the portal/recruiting that fit the needs of the team is pretty special. I think that is why you are seeing us so high in the early rankings. The parts fit very nicely.
We will have to wait to see the results, but the high rankings are very much justified.
