In the AP Poll history:

• Purdue is 17th with 417 appearances (33% of all polls). That's 7th in the B1G behind IU (8), Illinois (10), MSU (11), OSU (12), Michigan (14T) and Maryland (14T). Purdue is 21 appearances behind Maryland and Michigan. We passed Iowa a couple of years ago.
• Purdue is 24th in top 5 appearances with 72
• Purdue is 29th in appearances at #1 with 9 (all in the last 3 years)

Since the turn of the century:

• Purdue is 19th in total appearances with 201 (43.3% of all polls)
• Purdue is 19th in top 5 appearances with 47
• Purdue is 18th in appearances at #1 with 9

In the last 2+ Years:

• Purdue is #7 in total appearances with 42 (95.5% of all polls)
• Purdue is #1 in top 5 appearances with 34 (77.3% of all polls)

Purely looking at the numbers would tell me Purdue is a top-20 program but trending upward IF they can get out of their own way. That's a big IF and a somewhat Boilerepherine-spiked perspective...haha.

The first several years after the turn of the century were pretty bleak. Purdue is definitely trending in the right direction.
