looked a lot like Hummels 1st tear at Minny. As much as I hate IU, I don't like seeing anyone go down like that.

Definitely did not look good, and he still hasn't come out of the locker room. I'm thinking it's an ACL and IU doesn't have much depth at small forward.

I knew as soon as he went down it wasn't good. Not wishing this on any player...but I don't have a good feeling about it.

Was it Anunoby's ankle or knee?

I was rooting for Penn State but Blackmon Jr. got them with a buzzer-beater. I don't know if he should be "shooshin'" the crowd though. PSU will remember that when/if they play IU again this season.

Kind of weird seeing a program like IU doing a victory lap around the court against PSU. Maybe this buzzer beater will become the latest "that's when I knew we were back" moment for IU fans.

I'm surprised Crean didn't pull out a ladder to cut the nets down.

Note: BTN just showed a replay of Anunoby being helped off the court. It looked like he was putting weight on that injured knee/leg/foot whatever it was. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a sprained MCL instead of a torn ACL.

IU hasn't been "back" since Knight has been gone. I wish they would shut up with that stuff.

I hope you're right, but I watched a buddy of mine play soccer for two hours after tearing his ACL. It kept hyperextending on him but he didn't have trouble putting weight on it til the next day.

As far as Blackmon, I'm not a fan of taunting. That being said, they kept accidentally piping in crowd noise during the broadcast and you could hear the Penn State fans running their mouths to the IU players all game. That, mixed with the PSU players running past Anunoby to the locker room while he was still down, made me not mind Blackmon's actions too much.

I don't have a problem with players taunting the crowd after a win... usually that player has been hearing it the entire game. Like I told my IU friends after Todd Foster stomped & spit on the IU center court after beating them.... if you don't like it, beat us next time.

I also thought it was funny that Blackmon was telling the 84 Penn State fans in attendance to be quiet. When you barely escape a total collapse like that, I don't think taunting is the most appropriate response. Then again, that might be the highlight of his IU playing career so I suppose he took the opportunity to celebrate it in the manner he saw fit. Oh well, not our problem to deal with.

Like I posted previously, I hope that he is OK. I am also pleased that there has been no rejoicing or smarmy comments like were seen on Peegs after RH's injuries.

Was thinking the exact same thing. Is there any way to go back in the forum archives to find those posts? Pure trash.

Watching it live made me think of Hummel, and I cringed, never want to see any player hurt. Hope kid is ok, rather they be fully healthy when Purdue plays them. If he is out for awhile, it actually probably buys Clappy more time as head coach down there I am guessing, Glass can say well he didn't have a healthy team etc.... sign him to an extension! Ha!

Hate to see a young man go down like that....wish him the best to be able to resume playing and return healthy. He's got the game to play at the next level. The bright side is there are now more information and resources available to recover and overcome this type of setback....still very unfortunate....just never know.

haven't heard the official medical report, but never did think tear. I figured it was a strain seeing it and then seeing him put some weight on it seemed like to confirm it. However, above a poster referenced a tear where a person did in fact not have the usual symptoms. Like others can never wish for set back injuries. Sometimes I wish for a sore shooting arm. :)

Bearing weight on the injured leg doesn't mean he didn't tear something. You can function ACL deficient, you'll just be lacking stability. My college roommate played 2/3 a B1G football season with a torn ACL.

Foster didn't spit on IU's logo. He jumped up and down on it.

Watson from Creighton tore his ACL in the Xavier game on Monday...not only did he put weight on the injured knee, but, he went back in and played, before he hurt it again and was not able to continue.

Didn't Henderson play with a brace on his knee at IU when he tore his ACL before having it surgically repaired?

I remember Hummel walking without the aid of crutches before he had his surgery as well.

Jake Butt tore his ACL in the Orange Bowl and walked to the locker room.

I had a friend tear his ACL and he could walk just fine as long as he walked straight. Changing directions and he would fall down. Did that for a week or so until he had surgery to repair it.

That low rent blog is complete bullshit. Brad Miller never went close to the circle after the game. Todd Foster jumped up and down in jubilation but he didn't spit on anything. IU fans liked to spin that one until it grew legs into fact. Just as there are still people who believe our troops were spit on during the Vietnam war.

They are pretty paranoid down there about anyone stepping on center court after an IU loss. The cheerleaders have strict orders to rush to center court as soon as the horn sounds to make sure the opponent can't celebrate there.

Don't ruin it for me... I like to think they spit on the I

I believe that is the Brian Cardinal rule.

Interesting, I spent 5 years there and have never heard that. Not saying it's false; I can absolutely see IU doing that.

3588, it is totally true. Go over to the other site and ask. They will affirm the claim.

I'll take your word for it. I try to stay away from most of the IU fan sites. Too many dumbasses lol. I just stick to 24/7; they're a pretty decent/fair bunch for the most part. im sure a lot of the others would've banned me by now.
