We have a monumental task going to Michigan State this weekend. Can we keep it within 2 to 3 TDs? Calhoun is going to give our veteran line (veteran in number of games, not veteran in our line for Brees) fits. It is good that Blough is mobile, because he is probably going to be on the run most of Saturday. Can we keep this respectable?

Spread is MSU -22, and I would take us and the points.

I don't know, but if Purdue is down by three tds or more late in the game, and are inside the Spartan 30 and its 4th down ,how about letting a back up kicker try a fg?What would they have to lose?

31-17 the ugly green wins!!

I'm hoping we wear our new green and white road recruiter unis and confuse the opponents into multiple mistakes but then I'm hoping to retire before next Monday and that's not likely either.

George Perles had a run in the late 80s where MSU just obliterated Purdue for 3 or 4 years in a row. I feel like we're headed back in that direction. Mark Dantonio is at least as good as Perles, and Haze is worse than Fred Akers.

48-17 MSU

Haz makes Fred look like a great coach. Since they are ranked pretty high right now I'm sure they want to demolish us, no mercy. If they do 65 - 10 If they send out 2nd/3rd string late after the half maybe 40-somthing to 17/20

I'm guessing MSU will a) be looking ahead to anyone and b) will call off the dogs to avoid injuries, etc. to keep it around 20.
MSU 35-14

No, it will be UGLY to 0, and that's at the half.

A couple of things...we always tend to play MSU tough, MSU hasn't blown out anybody, and MSU is not the #2 rated team based on on-the-field performance. I don't think we win, but who knows? I think we cover at least.

We go with a zero man rush with everyone 10 yards off line of scrimmage. MSU gets 5 yards before seeing a Purdue defender. Hazell defends it Monday by saying it was a great scheme.

It will be our scheme for eating up the clock. We'll try to make the MSU QB wait 20 seconds for an open receiver as opposed to the 8 seconds it took Bowling Green's receivers to get open.

MSU hasn't been too impressive so far. Their close win over Oregon has lost a lot of its shine after last weekend.

Since we are performing at the MAC level currently, I expect the score to be similar to that of State's wins over CMU and WMU. Also have to factor in that there appears to be no possible way that we will score 3 points (Griggs is in a bad place right now) or 2 points (defense too soft). So, I say we lose 35-14.

Two things that help. 1) MSU is missing some starters. I believe I read that both their starting OT's are out. 2) Forecast looking a bit rainy.
So more run-based offense for both teams and a weakened Oline for MSU means that it might be lower scoring (relatively) game. I'm going with 28-10 loss.

If we can't run the ball vs BG, there's no way we can against Sparty. We will see alot of 3rd and long. I'm hoping for a win and crazier things have happened but, MSU 38 Purdue 10 . The TD will probably be in garbage time.

I would like to say MSU 41 Purdue 10 but we can't possibly make a field goal so 41-8 MSU...We get a TD and run for the two extra points.

Do you just do the math? A good MAC team beats us by at least 7 and MSU beat CMU by 20, so 44-17?

I wanna say that but I'm not sold on cook and if they're going to be an offense that telegraphs run ... Purdue has done well

MSU's biggest blowout of the season is 20 points. They've been giving up points and not putting a ton on the board. If we lose by 21+, it's a problem.

We have no Defense. Fair against the run and really bad against the pass (especially over the middle). Purdue has no answer for it....

Mark it down: Michigan State 70 Purdue 14

What the heck is happening? What's wrong with you people?

How long was I asleep?

Help me out -- I passed out after the MSU game 11/4/2006 up in Lansing - we had beaten the Spartans in 1997, 98, 99, 2001, '02, '05, and '06. Only loss during all that time was a fluke during the Rose Bowl season. We beat Saban. We beat that one coach that slapped himself in the face. We own MSU.

Did I miss something?

Hey, wait a minute... where's Tiller?

Cook has 2 INT's and MSU has a third turnover on ST giving us free points. Purdue 38 MSU 35 on a last second 50 yard field goal from Griggs.
