Funny response from someone who whines when people here have an opinion that differs from yours.
Shrug. I don't think Braden needs stuff like that for motivation.
Could there be 5 better players in the B1G this year? Yeah, maybe, but admittedly I don't know the rosters of the new teams all that well. But off the top of my head I'm guessing he has the 2 Rutgers frosh and Bruce Thornton up there. Maybe someone from UCLA, someone from Oregon? Michigan? There are so many new faces it's hard to guess.
ETA: I generally think Andy Katz is one of the good ones out there. Does that mean I always agree with him? No, but he's not an idiot.

BTW, this list was based on NBA potential as opposed to who Katz thinks is the best player in the conference or who might win POY. Much ado about nothing IMO.
First thing Braden does this year is rip off 31 in an exhibition game ! I don't think Braden needs to prove anything! Just be Braden, and get the freak out of his way , he is on a mission. Katz didn't even know Braden when he showed up on campus and after this season it will be Mr. Smith. Lol.
I saw that he said that. That seems like a bit of a backtrack on his part IMO. And frankly, if you are talking NBA potential, I'm not sure Braden (nor Osobor) should be top 10.
Not very many people thought Edey would be successful in the NBA. He has proven many people wrong.

If he believes there are 5 players better than smith, he’s probably right. I haven’t seen Smith’s name included in any mock drafts.
Northwestern’s Boo was a pretty good player but was never drafted. Michigan’s Dickinson was a good player but not good enough for the pros.

But Ivey is doing pretty well in the nba….not sure why you think he’s not?
The list is based on nba potential, but who the actual best player is in the conference. Still weird he lists Great Osobor at 5.

Crazy they have Boswell at 42…right now he is def not an nba player. He disappeared so much last year and didn’t look great in their scrimmage—maybe that’ll change throughout the year.
Reneau at 49 is somewhat head scratching as he hasn’t shown he can guard anyone that is quick or the same size as him—just fouls and fouls. He’s good for college but nothing that outstanding.
I keep seeing Carlyle at the end of mocks but I don’t get it. I guess his potential from HS is still propping him up?
He was 59th in his HS class, so probably not that. Probably potential based off his freshman year. Could creat this own shot, as bergaed 11.5 and shot 32% from 3 as a freshman.
Rice is by far the best pro prospect on the roster.

He may get it. Missed some really good looks against Tennessee, but everyone was missing in that game. You can tell he's trying to find his role.
Yeah. Tough for the newer guys that are used to be ball dominant or get the ball a lot to not get it as much and have to adjust.
Well that made this list even worse. A fifth year Covid senior who is slow and has shown much improvement the last two years. Cmonnnn Andy Katz!
