Fire (insert name here)! Can I be the first to say I'm disappointed with the choice??
Just thought I'd get that in there before tomorrow.![]()
Nancy Cross.
If there was ever a case for the projectile vomiting smilie.....
I predict its Berghoff.
I did hear a rumor within the last hour that Morgan Burke was spotted with his desk in the elevator, heading down to the basement, with a stapler in hand. Take it for what it's worth.Has anyone here heard/read about who it is (or is rumored to be)?
Coming from a steel company is the highest prerequisiteThe chairman of the search committee: "The new AD is...ME!"
Daniels may be stepping down to run for the senate or gov. again.
Eric Hyman would be a very solid choice. He has made some excellent hires including Spurrier and Dawn Stanley at USC and Gary Patterson at TCU.
Doubtful this has direct implications on the AD hire, but perhaps it is the next domino to fall in the string of events that could lead Sumlin back home.
Brian Cardinal. He's been groomed for the position.Has anyone here heard/read about who it is (or is rumored to be)?

Maybe the big announcement is that Morgan offered himself a 6 year extension on the way out the door, had a change of heart, and decided to stay. Please no, for the love of God, not Nancy Cross.
Don't know about anyone else, BUT I WOULD LOVE THIS.
Football expertise and focus for 7-10 years > retire > leave PUR in good hands.
Sure seems like the closest to a home run hire we could have.Doubtful this has direct implications on the AD hire, but perhaps it is the next domino to fall in the string of events that could lead Sumlin back home.
He's 65- does the mandatory retirement rule not apply to ADs?

In this case, I think it makes sense. If he's the one, he's certainly being hired to get football back on track and isn't expected to be the AD for a long time. He's 65- does the mandatory retirement rule not apply to ADs?
I agree that 65 is too young to retire - in MOST cases. In this case, I think it makes sense. If he's the one, he's certainly being hired to get football back on track and isn't expected to be the AD for a long time.
Mitch Danniels is 67, so I doubt the age is much of an issue. Personally, I think that for many people, 65 is too young to retire.
He hired Matta, Miller and Mack at XND Grad. Nothing of real substance that he has done at previous stops except maybe the hiring of Pastner as BB coach at GA Tech.
I like his BB hires at X, but his one FB hire was at Akron, and wasn't so good. I do like that he's not a Purdue guy. This is kind of a head scratcher to me...
Thanks for the info. I do like that he's not a Purdue guy as well, I just know nothing about him.I like his BB hires at X, but his one FB hire was at Akron, and wasn't so good. I do like that he's not a Purdue guy.
