C'mon man....Is this still the same Purdue that iu used to whine about during the Keady era for playing "Gangster" defense?

Purdue and Keady perfected the bump, grab, hold, check. And now we're whining because other teams are doing it to us?

The problem is, Purdue does't have enough good ball handlers who can make a team pay when they're going to extend the D and get into you.

We're going to see the same thing against Auburn which could result in another ugly loss.

Problem is to much dribbling and not enough passing to make the defense pay.

Yes but the rules have changed.
Or have they?

Sure there are major differences in personnel, but if you are a coach and NOT at least trying to play Purdue the way they have been soundly beaten twice already.....you probably should be fired.
Yup. The blueprint is out there. If you have the personnel, you can really disrupt the Purdue offense.
Now, we'll see if Painter has a counter punch.

Great post, how soon we forget lol. Brian Cardinal was hated by all except Boiler fans for playing just like this.

Last night was nothing......take a trip down memory lane.....

We need to fight aggressive defense with aggressive offense. Attack the rim. Don’t dibble around until they force a turnover. Pass the ball and make them work.

That is the rub. Loyer can get to the lane but not strong enough to finish. Heide and Colvin don't seem to be good enough ball handlers to get to the rim and Harris can't hit a 3 so teams sag off him. Our wings are all one dimensional so defenses can over play the perimeter and blow up the offense. We need Drake Morris 2.0.

We need Heide and Colvin to start getting more aggressive on offense, Loyer to take more shots over wild foray into trouble and Smith to be more selfish in taking shots

There's solutions available, it's not a talent problem (although obviously we are thin in the frontcourt because of a freak injury).
