2026 Recruiting

I don’t have the box score but SBW won 86-55. Brantley was probably there since he is from Andrean. SBW is 7-0 and ranked #4 in 3A. Reynolds is listed as a guard and averages 14 points and 4.6 rbs (team leader). It looks like his Dad is 6’7” played at W Michigan.

And Mom as well! Some good genes (Purdue and athletic talent) in that family!
His Mom is the girls coach at Guerin.

It's a shame we let their first born, get away & go to MD. Tremendous player. We offered, but to no avail. Great family with God as their #1 priority, and family then basketball coming in next.
Are there any family ties to Maryland?

A kid to keep an eye on. Believe he goes to Tindley Prep and believe we have been watching him.

OT: But seeing Bill Hensley's name brings back SO MANY memories. My son was the same age as Bill's... back in the day when AAU was just becoming a business. Back when getting access to a gym to practice in was impossible. Back when Bill started spending some money betting on the future of AAU. A great guy who I don't think would have liked where AAU has gone.

I don’t know who Bill is/was - but the teams that tournament draws is impressive. I like that it crosses shoe brands and isn’t focused on catering to just one.

Chris Kramer had some thoughts - assuming these are aligned with what you are saying.

I think Bill created Gym Rats around 1991

The G.R.B.A. was created in 2010 after Gym Rats separated from its former national organization USSSA or United States Specialty Sports Association. Gym Rats became a part of the USSSA in 2001 after USSSA approached Gym Rats former owner Bill Hensley about creating their basketball program. Gym Rats under the leadership of Bill Hensley grew USSSA’s basketball program to over 8,ooo teams in 15 states. Upon Bill’s death in 2007, USSSA came under new leadership and Gym Rats Basketball reevaluated its role with USSSA. This led to our departure in 2010 and the creation of G.R.B.A. was formed. The creation of Gym Rats Basketball Association, allows Spiece Gym Rats and their partners direct marketing opportunities to the mass numbers in grass roots basketball.

I feel like we are watching DeZhon Hall but don’t think we have offered yet. 6-4 guard was playing for Tindley Prep, same school as Eric Hunter. Is transferring to Pike which should help with competition and development playing for Jeff Teague.
