2025 Transfer portal thread

I was looking on x i didnt know pudue is the only school that has had a all american guard each in the last 7 years just saying if iam a big time guard iam going to purdue
That’s why Taylor Kinney, a top 20 recruit, has us as his top school over UK and Louisville. It’ll be hard to get him, as he’s a huge UK fan. But he has talked about how much he likes how paint has made the offense around Braden and how awesome Mackey was.

Touch the brakes a little. If he’s that good why did he redshirt last year. He may be good in a few years but not expecting much next year. Not enough minutes to let him develop, my guess is he averages 10 minutes a game
TKR redshirted it's not like that didn't work. You did not watch the clip. Painter said he didn't want to waste a year no way you watched it.

So, for everyone that was pearl-clutching and hand-wringing about Painter going to the portal because they were worried about team chemistry....I guess we can forget about that now?
Crematory is gone now. But it’s more about fit and then taking a personality test. Super interesting interview on field of 68 with painter and the guy who leads the firm that conducts the personality tests.

I live in Lexington and attend UK games regularly.

Rupp does not even come close to touching the atmosphere of Mackey.

Any news on anyone for Us? Lol
Saw this but not sure I’ve seen his name before.

Also keep an eye out on Omer Mayer from Israel. He’s in the states for some international hoops summit and supposedly has a visit.

Also think it is funny that there is a “dead week” for recruiting after the tourney and not during the tourney. Someone with a brain make it make sense.

Dead week right now (through Fri) so can only contact recruits virtually. Purdue has kept it very close to the vest but I’d assume it’ll pick back up the second half of April.

Dead period?

Holier than thou BYU just poached Baylors best player this week.

I know Painter follows rules and I respect that, but the scumbags of the sport are still working the portal and getting an advantage. It is crazy how their is absolutely no penalties for poaching rosters. It would be huge fine and post season bans in any other sports.

You can still sign players…they just can’t talk to coach in person.

I think you’re right. I recall maybe a leg or foot injury that lingered and Furst was more ready at the start of the season.

Although I don't think he red-shirted solely because of injury, it may have contributed to the decision. He had a hand injury before the season, and then (IIRC) he had an ankle injury after official practice started. We'll never know for sure if he would have contributed in a substantial way or had a meaningful impact down the stretch....it appeared that had he not red-shirted, he would have been behind in the rotation because he wasn't fully healthy early on.......as you stated, Beef.

Here's a reminder of Painter's comments at the time.

Anyone who averages 10 points at Virginia should be good for 14.5 anywhere else, right?

Yes, according to this formula... 10 points at Virginia = 14.5 at Purdue :)

Never heard of this guy, but seems like a nice player. Would like to see a 3/4 that can score off dribble and defend to round out out depth though.
a week or 2 ago I posted about this guy entering the portal and someone here said they rather have Va's 6'10 guy. I was looking for a solid guy to blend w/ our stars that was 6'7 or 6'8 rated 4 star

Read somewhere this morning that the Va kid is leaning Purdue.
