Maybe he's already worked out a deal somewhere but what's your source for knowing how much we are or aren't willing to spend?
I know a few folks ….The BIG dollars are needed to retain Braden and TKR.
Creighton has had some great additions so far. Same for Louisville, Michigan and Miami. Louisville and Michigan will be Top 15 teams to start the year.
I watched Brian Neubert on a podcast with Alan K. Saturday they both chuckled at people saying Purdue didn't have NIL money to keep their own or go get anyone they want. Purdue as you would expect is cash happy and they have to spend it before July. Painter admitted as much in San Antonio. Their podcast is free, so I don't believe I am violating them after the fact. They both felt that Colvin and maybe Cox and Harris will be behind Benter a quote from Brian " I have seen it he can shoot, pass, defend and dribble better" Painter didn't want to burn a year of eligibility from Benter. This IMO confirms what I had thought Jack is a big guard who can play small or big. They agreed there was no room at the table for a 6'7 four with TKR and 3 near 7' footers. Some say with the revenue sharing rules that will be adopted today Purdue will have millions to spend across all sports. I'm with them on all accounts. We may have too much talent for the minutes available. I can't wait for Jack to see the floor. Also, Brian said "he was sure to be at pregame warm-ups just to watch Benter and Loyer shoot". If according to them Money and talent won't be a problem 2026 maybe our year.
Is Benter strong enough to defend and rebound in the B1G?
not to me, but I have no opinion on his D since I haven't seen enough of him, but he is stronger than many playing on a lot of teams I suspect
I believe so especially since he has been doing it in practice's all year.
Not just strength, but lateral quickness. I guess we will know more in November

I think Flory saw the exits and what was coming back and made a good choice. He was also told by Auburn that they only take players who are 21 and older….
Brian hinted that Benter might be the better shooter of the two.
We will see if that is the case when and if defenses run him off the line, like the amount of respect Loyer gets, but we do know Jack can shatter backboards off the bounce.
I agree that Loyer has proven it at the high major level and Benter hasn’t yet, but it does sound like Benter might eventually belong in the conversation with Mathias, Cline, and Loyer.

Funny, I was thinking the same or Jaraan Cornell. Just savvy offensive players.
Cornell was a very good shooter until his injury and may be wrong but seem to remember him shooting off 1-2 dribbles a lot. Troy would not take anymore dribbles...maybe less, but moved so well without the ball. Gene was shocked a bit that a high school recruit could work so well without the ball as he did at Anderson. Alford was a very good shooter who had to learn to get open without the ball. When I watched Jack at Kokomo I happened to catch a previous guard for Kokomo and Purdue grad (Dirk Hankins) and we watched Jack who in that setting was not at a disadvantage on D, but just got open.
That clip may have been from the game that Carsen broke two Euro records in one quarter (points and threes...8!)

I believe they played in the same conference just not at the same time.

Yes here is the think yes benter is good but purdue has to bring in a different wing player to go with him and maybe a different forward it should be easy getting this you have the best point guard in the country
Dustin told me a couple of years ago that he thought a lot of Purdue fans would be surprised with how good he is....
Touch the brakes a little. If he’s that good why did he redshirt last year. He may be good in a few years but not expecting much next year. Not enough minutes to let him develop, my guess is he averages 10 minutes a game
