2025 Transfer portal thread

Auburn 😞

Inside info ?

How many years does Flory have left?

He visited Duke and Auburn, first time around - without any insider knowledge or other facts, I would guess those two schools are still in play - candidly, I don't see Purdue being in the final mix.....

What's going to really change for him or Painter this time around that will change mutual beneficial interest? Of course, I could be dead wrong and will be more than happy to admit it.

Wolegib - he has three full years of eligibility.

Doesn’t that impact that recruit we were in on that committed to Auburn? Where’s he getting minutes if Flory is there!!?

He should do well under a Pearl and Auburn. He’d do well at Houston too.
SWA. But flory would be the 5 and SWA would be the 4 I believe. But that’d be a really young front court to depend on

Not if you are a premier program in the Big Ten. IU was 38 games under .500 in that stretch, which is a lot, but Purdue is 38 games over .500 in the past four years of conference games.
Okay cool. Yea, Purdue has had bigger ups than Indiana since the turn of the century. What's your point?

A rumor about Catchings from a Facebook group. Take it with a grain of salt.

A poster said Catchings was supposedly suspended twice this year.

That could explain why he didn’t play several games and the coach said it was an injury.

Some factual evidence from a track team. If a player violates team rules, they are suspended and the coach covers the suspension for the public by saying it’s a minor injury.

So I am led to speculate Catchings injuries this year might not have been physical. It appears the people at BYU don’t like him much either.

"some factual evidence from a track team" That made me laugh!

That he develops with the best big man coach in the country. But that doesn’t seem to be on his radar.

It actually was factual. A lot of track athletes miss meets due to minor injuries. A lot of those injuries are faked. The positive drug tests and bad grades were not but were never admitted. Ever notice how Purdue athletes miss games for no real reason. Or have lingering injuries but recover real fast? Ever notice a Purdue player missed a football bowl game and the coach refuses to reveal the reason?

Not exactly. NBA will draft a guy just off potential and fit. Derek Lively wasn't good as a freshman at Duke and went in the lottery just off what the Mavs thought he could do.
Lively was a whole lot more dominant than flory was and 4 inches taller on a better team. But sure. He can always go.

Sure he was taller but more dominant? Not really. Averaged 5.2ppg, 5.4rpg. was a blocking machine in his 20mpg at 2.3 blocks a game. Flory averaged 5.9ppg, 5.4rpg and 1.6 blocks in just 16 minutes.

You reaffirmed what I said.

Did you watch lively at Duke? Flory is still super raw and not near lively yet.

Yes I watched Lively. He struggled his freshman year. He found some footing late as a lob threat and rim protector, but he also got to play. Flory didn't.
I know you’re tryin to convince yourself if IU gets flory, IU is an instant contender, but Flory has a ways to go. It’s a shame he doesn’t come get developed by the best big man coach in the country—Coach Brantley.
