Regardless of what your opinions of Izzo might be, he gets results when it counts. You can argue his tactics but not his results. If you are a high level recruit, knowing your chance of going to a Final 4 is highly likely if you stay four years is a huge draw. MSU has nice facilities and a supportive fan base. I don't know what is said by coaches during the conversations with recruits, but it seems Painter could promise a lot of these guys big minutes early in their career. But with the ego of kids today, they probably think they can start anywhere they go, so promising minutes may not be a big selling point...just a guess, not a fact.
