Zach Edey is living rent free in Hoosiers' heads for eternity:

Next year ,you know the dril. This was the best Purdue will ever have. I’ve seen that one at four, maybe five times so far.

    OT: Saddened by Montross' death!

There is NO correlation between getting vaccinated and getting cancer. Another garbage myth from the internet.

Purdue back to #1 with 48 of 62 #1 votes

I agree about Nebraska. They are playing better than many of the big-name BIG teams right now. I don't know if they have the depth yet, but their starters are good.

BIG TEN had a good weekend!

22 was the Purdue attendance at Maui as posted by Courtsense on the other message board. I've been making fun of that lie since then. If anyone asks how many fans were in attendance, I will always say it was "22" to mock our odd friends down south.

I I think the gate count at Ass-Hall was just 22 people.

Purdue vs. Arizona: MASTER DISCUSSION THREAD

Just because the AZ zone slowed us down for several possessions doesn’t mean we could throw a zone at an opponent and have it work. in fact, I’m not sure the AZ zone was the reason we missed open shots. It just might have been a lull in our shooting. Just not convinced zone would work for us.

    I got two questions

It's the difference between freshmen guards and experienced sophomore guards. The freshman to sophomore leap..

    Who goes to #1?

Well the factor here was "rankings". I'm not sure you are making the point you intend to. Yes, UNC was ranked #1 at the start of the season, but by the end of the season they were not ranked at all. Rankings do play the major role in at-large invitations. Of course, Conference champions also...

    Who goes to #1?

This is a revelation!! Just who did Penn State play in last year's NCAA???? Once again you are a bit off in your perspective. No harm done, but it does make you look foolish. No sweat, I've probably posted worse. 8-)

Purdue vs. Arizona: MASTER DISCUSSION THREAD

LOL! You do have a point. However, I think it would be suicide to try to stop Purdue with a zone. Zone defenses are infamous for poor rebounding (Purdue is already one of the top rebounding teams) and an be cooked by good3-point shooting (Purdue is reasonably good at shooting from the arch)...

Purdue vs. Arizona: MASTER DISCUSSION THREAD

Do any of the experts who are calling for zone defense know if AZ has faced it before? Perhaps they simply destroyed it. My expectation is that throwing a zone against any good team is a death wish, especially if they shoot well and are good rebounders. For example: Arizona.

    Loyer

Wait, I don’t understand? 1. I thought Loyer was too weak 2. Somebody said Smith was too slow 3. We need more “athletic guards” 4. Painter doesn’t know how to coach because he is just too stubborn. Perhaps, just maybe, this noise will drop and we can get to a more level perspective.

How is your campaign to find the weakest link on the team going these days?

Remember the rules have changed to improve freedom-of-movement. The kind of defense we saw Kramer and Davis do would draw lots of fouls now. You won't see their like again.

    News out of Michigan

Did the IU guys post the Ball-Rack rumor yet? As in "I heard Howard hit the strength coach with a ball rack". They were dead-on about there only being 22 Purdue fans at Maui. LOL! 8-)

    Michigan State?

I do believe Izzo uses negative recruiting tactics against us. Smarter recruits will see through it, I would hope. Pretty soon his lack of engagement with his current recruits, lack of development, and lack of more current success will begin to empty the cupboard of talent (Don't read this as...

A fast offensive player will almost always have the advantage on a similarly fast defensive player because the offensive player knows which way he is going. The defense must read/react to every fake. Contrary to some posts, Morton does move his feet and does well to stay in front of these...

    Mason Gillis

The whole mix-match activity with Zack, Trey, Furst, and Gillis makes Purdue very hard to guard consistently. When Zack goes out, we usually do not lose ground. The second shift not only keeps the point differential, but often has improved our position. The opponent gets used to guarding the...

    This is why….

We came into Evanston sleep walking. Not our best game by any measure. I would not recommend using this game for any meaningful analysis unless we see a pattern.

    Michigan State?

My thought is that Izzo just isn’t doing much work with these kids. They sure don’t seem to have the toughness and drive of MSU teams 10 years ago. Coasting, IMHO. Maybe they will prove me wrong, but I think Izzo will retire in a couple years anyway.
