I haven't taken the time to look up when Michigan's non-conference games were scheduled but it's amazing that to start the season they will have faced three D-1 teams with Sagarin Rankings:
- Colorado State #134
- Hawai'i #162
- U-Conn #149
All three are in the bottom 14 of D-1A teams with numerous 1-AA teams ranked above them! It's a schedule I'd expect from IU, not Michigan.
(BTW Indiana State, a poor 1-AA team is ranked 181st.)
Not to be outdone, Minnesota's schedule, is actually worse than Michigan's, although there is a 1-AA on the schedule. They've faced:
- New Mexico State #170
- Western Illinois #206
- Colorado #103
Not surprised both teams are undefeated.
