While you’re here… I didn’t listen, but what was your predicted record for the team this year? You shared it with me before the season started.

It’s an interesting story. The story says the injury took place in 2005 while he was playing for the chargers. He then went on to play with that injury for both Miami and New Orleans. He seemed to do ok. I can understand now why San Diego traded him. They obviously thought his career would be a short one. If anything he played his entire career with the pain of that injury. I believe the real reason behind his retirement was not the injury but rather he was just getting old with nothing more to prove. Like Barry Sanders he left the game on his own terms. No regrets.

With the type of hits that players take now days, there will be hundreds of players that will be lucky to walk without pain later on in life. With head concussions, walking without pain will be the least of their worries.
