“David Bell wouldn’t start at Ohio $tate”

Here is the most noticeable to knowledgeable fans and those who watch the games for David Bell when compared to his first two years. Not only did he have great production and YAC this year, but just his presence alone this year blew up coverage, especially on goal line situations, making others better.

You could only see it if you watched the games, but the staff did an amazing, and very subtle job where there were many, many routes that Bell was unselfishly & purposely used as a decoy that turned into easy touchdowns for Milton Wright and others. Teams were keying on him, and the Brohm's took advantage on that where they would cut him in on a combo or slant route that got jumped by the safety & CB, leaving others wide open.

Terrific receiver chess match route calling this year.

That sounds like a The Ohio State fan.

David Bell would start on any team in college football, including Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, etc. He could be starting for several NFL teams right now who are needing receivers.

Congrats to David! You will be missed going to the NFL, but not forgotten as a true Boilermaker!!

Congrats to David Bell.

We'll never know how much more production he could have had if he'd have been healthy for the last few games. Playing gimped and putting up eye popping numbers is certainly a testament to his toughness.
It is a crazy bold statement, but, I am comfortable with the notion that he is the best Purdue has ever had. The kid is just unreal with respect to the consistent production. Not flashy, just performs...and, as good (probably better) off the field than he is on it.

He is the E'Twaun Moore of Purdue football.

Great analogy.

He’s the larry Fitzgerald of Purdue football

Anybody that wants to argue about David Bell need only watch the route he runs against Oregon State at about the 5:30 mark of this highlight video. It’s is the most sophisticated and precise route running you will ever see.
