We all know the shtik where the crook points a gun at Jack Benny and demands, "Your money or your life." (Long pause) "I'm thinking ... I'm thinking," the late comic/miser says.

"What do you care more about?" my wife asked me recently. "Watching this game or spending time with me?"

How did you respond? Were you honest?

the wife - especially during football season. I had a choice to go to Milwaukee or stay at home with my wife. I stayed home.

I'm still thinking...how long before you have to know? :) Actually, Kim would never place me in that position "IF" there were a way around it...and if not...I would record things. She asked this afternoon if I wanted to go to any football games this year and she knows how I am with basketball. She has learned a lot more about basketball the last few years, but I still get a kick out of her when I'm watching a recording (if not studying she many times watches them with me) and I tell her to watch so and so...and I back it up and go forward a few times showing her things and "why" that worked or didn't work and she after a few times says...don't stop she isn't interested in detail. In the early days she would see things outside the lines and I would laugh and tell her I missed it. She quickly learned I only saw what went on between the lines.

Still, she isn't swamped with sport things, because I don't watch pro sports and not a fan of class basketball either..and so it is Purdue, Butler with IU and other Big teams generally.

when it is important...sports are games... :)

I simply turned my husband into a Purdue fan.....much easier that way.
He said wives, not husbands. There's a big difference:) Husbands are tools and are only on the planet for lawn care and auto mechanics. That's a quote from my wife of 31 years.

Actually though, my wife will change our schedule if it's during a big Purdue game. Football day has been off that radar for years. I guess I have to pick her. Living in a house with my wife and two daughters for many years, I couldn't win. If I didn't do it a woman's way, I was *@!%ed. Abused.

My wife is a Purdue grad so Thank God I don't have to answer that question! ;)

Easy answer.....If you are a good husband all of the time and follow the saying "A Happy wife is a Happy Life" then you are pleasing her all the time and should be able to get time for your Purdue obligations when needed.

It is those that don't make the wife happy that have to choose.
