First, Bobo must gogo. He hired Brohm knowing one day he’d bolt to his precious hometown alma mater, yet he still awarded him sweet moving deals. Then, when he did bolt, Bobo’s big plan was to wait over a week to hire yet another guy with no ties to Purdue but who also had never been a head coach anywhere in his life, granting him on-the-job training in the Big Ten in one of its toughest positions.

At least Bobo was able to give his own alma mater a nice 66-7 win. Take the tapes. And before the door hits him on the ass, boot the half-dozen stuffed suits Bobo hired to do Morgan Burke’s job, despite inheriting upgraded facilities in all sports, the winningest coaches in four of the five major programs and rich TV deals. Fourteen hold “athletics director” titles at Purdue. Only four were Boilermakers. Money can’t buy love and devotion.

Then hold the door open for Walters and his staff, too. The kids who stay can call plays on their own, since they really couldn’t do worse. More on-the-job training. Resume building. Of course, we can wait until the season is over, if it isn’t already, while having to watch a lot more of the same.

Meanwhile, the new AD, Calvin Williams, will support a fellow worthy alumnus. Just as I suggested when Brohm abandoned Purdue, Kevin Sumlin is a proven program builder and successful head coach (95-63) who won’t screw Purdue for some bullshit place because this is where he started and where he’d stay devoted. He’s a winner with state and national connections, and he’s a Boilermaker.

For those who think outsiders do Purdue any favors, just look at the scoreboard.

I still stand on this platform – fire Bobo and Wawa, hire Calvin and Kevin. Send home domer, lean on loyal Boilers. Been here, done this.

I have respect for Kevin, but…how’s he doing, uh … personally?

He plead to a misdemeanor, and there’s a video floating around out there of the dui arrest a year ago. He was drunk and got caught behind the wheel, but he was pulled over in a gas station and he didn’t do anything ridiculous during the portion of the video I watched. Others on here have share here that this has been an ongoing struggle, so wish him the best with this issue. It’s likely that he’s too close to the incident to be considered for a HC job, damn shame that this is a barrier as he’s likely the only Boiler with a resume worth considering at this time.
