WTF?

I have been ejected twice over the years watching my kids play basketball. Both times I was 100% correct with my displeasure with a call. Both times the ref won. I run the clock now. Its harder to get worked up about what's going on with all of the calls.

A lot of assumptions being made here. Such as that he did not have permission to be away from his team to watch his high school alma matter. There is no reason to believe that is the case, or that he did anything illegal or against team rules at Purdue. Perhaps he's just a passionate guy who gets a little carried away cheering for his former team and at most just needs a little coaching on how to represent his current team with dignity while in public. The suggestion that he should be gone is way over-the-top. If E'twaun caught a Purdue game the night before the Bulls played the Pacers and got sanctioned for yelling at the refs, this Fanbase would probably have a very different reaction. Forgetting for a moment that that would be out of character for Moore.

Etwaun is a pro, and he did so many great things for Purdue basketball. Weatherford is a redshirt on scholarship who hasn't done anything yet. Not indicting the kid, I just don't think that is the correct comparison.

I laugh at this as if anyone has sat in the stands watching a sibling or more so, a son or daughter, and has not found themselves yelling at refs, coaches or worse opposing players, then you were heavily medicated. I should have been evicted from many many of my kids BB and soccer games over the years. Not sure what this young man did or said but I doubt it was worse than what I did. I'd be still running laps or doing ball busters. Been about 6 years from my last yelling, and I miss those days big time.

Been there...

My wife told me to shut up last week at my 7th grade grandsons basketball game.

Oklahoma State's coach got the boot from his kid's HS game a couple weeks ago. I wouldn't put to much into it. Besides, there are high school refs who have egos for some reason.

Not really. It's not like he raped someone.

I suspect this will ultimately not be a big deal.
Was once ordered to leave the sideline during a travel soccer tournament by the ref, and I didn't even curse. This is not a big deal. More likely a self-important official trying to show the crowd who's boss. Maybe grants a bit of a hothead, I can deal with that.

Sorry all. I wasn't insinuating that he snuck out without permission or that CMP didn't know he went to the game - I just figured everyone was in Indy at the hotel the night before today's game. That said, ref is probably just a disgruntled IU fan and this was his way to get at Purdue a little.

@New Pal Boiler - I like the fire too. Grant reminds me a little of Kramer. Looking forward to seeing him next year.

He has a younger brother that played. I don't know anything but heard there was a lot of fouls called. If I remember later I'll ask the Western AD...actually I know both AD's... :) Tried to call someone, but he didn't go to the game. If I hear from firsthand...I'll post and qualify if needed

Painter was in Fort Wayne last night recruiting. So he wasn't with the team either.

Who cares. HS refs suck more than college refs. OSU's coach was thrown out of a HS game this year.
Daughters softball game a few years back and a parent from the other team got in a fight with a parent from our team. Not good at all. I tried to stop it as I knew both parents, to no avail. The bad thing both were STATE COPS.

If true, shouldn't he have been with the team in Indy tonight?

So refs throw fans out of the game now? Is this a thing now? My God I've witnessed some pretty vile and obscene things shouted at refs in my life. I suppose I am remembering college games more so than high school, but is there really that much of a difference? I've only seen people ejected for throwing things, and that was usually done by the ushers/security.

my best I witnessed was the late 70s at Hamilton Southeastern. Ref...that I know and did a lot of games back then in the conference was doing the game. He made a call and the "OFFICIAL SCOREKEEPER" called him to the bench...rose from the bench and placed both of his hands around the Ref's neck and started choking him. Ref placed both his arms in-between the scorekeepers arms and split them away waved his arms and said you are out of here. I've seen a lot of fans kicked out over the year, but never an official scorekeeper...
