Don't disagree on either count necessarily, but, DePaul got screwed royally in regulation down the stretch...does not excuse their having played lousy for as long as they did, and it is sad to see what that once proud program has become...Butler did not deserve to win today, but they win some like that, and then win other ones that they seemingly should not, which is why they are knocking on the top 10 again and have had the consistent success that they have.
I was at the Indiana St. Butler game. I still can't believe Butler lost that one. That is a really bad lose.
They've made up for it with wins over Villanova, IU, Arizona, Cincinnati, Xavier, and Northwestern. They played great (made all their FT's, etc.) down the stretch when they gave Villanova their first and only loss (so far).
Butler is 12-1 against the RPI top 100. Tops in the country.
That being said, that game was about the worst basketball I've ever seen played at the major college level. Neither school deserved to win.
