Let's assume crean gets canned. Let's assume players leave the program. Let's assume blackmon wants to come to purdue.

Do you want him? I honestly believe he's a cancer... They were better last year after he went down, and he's not a good enough leader to pull the team together now. Doesn't play defense or rebound.

But he's a great shooter, a burger boy, and may thrive in a more structured environment. I still say no, but would you take him if you were painter?

And very ineffective when going left like me.

Purdue has good shooters that play both ends of the floor. I would pass as he is likely to be a bad influence. He is a selfish player; RJ with more talent.

Heck yes I would take him. I just think he's being utilized poorly. You put him in for 5 minute spurts and run set plays for him. Compensate on D if needed, but he'll be less tired bc of short spurts. Also, I'm a genius.

I voted no because I wouldn't want him to be a guy that gets 30 minutes over Dakota, Ryne, or Carsen. If he did ever leave Indiana he's going to want to go somewhere where he can be the focal point of the offense. That said, if he was willing to come to Purdue and play 5-10 minutes per game when we needed to stretch the floor or had a guy get into foul trouble you take him every time and don't think twice.

I would take Bryant in a heart beat. He is terribly under utilized by IU and would excel at Purdue under Painter. Blackmon, not so much. We have shooters that know the game better, make better decisions in-game, and play better defense.
He thinks he's a pro. He doesn't have enough eligibility left to mold him into a team player.

If we were going to be short on guards next year, I'd consider it. But we won't be. Biggie's scholarship needs to go to a big IMO.

great shooter - but sometimes it can't be overstated how important chemistry is to a team. I don't see Blackmon contributing in that regard so I'd pass. Plus he has that IU stench.

I think that maybe Rutgers will catch Indiana and they will finish in the basement. Has that ever happened?

Out of H.S? Okay.....but not now.....I want hard workers who grow from boys to men in that Old Gold and Black.....not sure he has that Boilermaker mind set this late in his college career.

No way. His high school team never won a sectional game. He is a horrible cancer that has never won anything.

Watched Marion play my high school last weekend and they got absolutely run out of the gym. I believe they were best by 20+ and Harrison had to have missed 15 free throws at least. I don't think I have seen a high school team look so unprepared in my life once the ball was tipped.

With a mentally stable coach he would be great.

If you mean for Purdue, absolutely not. We have better players at his position right now.
A team with poor perimeter shooting would be a fit for him.

Yep. IMO, anyone saying "no" doesn't think Painter could rein him in. Only a fool would recruit him, then, as I suspect, just because he went to our rival, now he's not good enough. Everyone here wanted him. Bragged about his HS talent. Now, because the Clown down South couldn't get anything out of him? I've been saying forever it seems that Crean is a terrible coach. Turrrrrible!

I don't recall any posts here saying we wanted him. Maybe my recollection is off. He is a scorer, but he hints his shots to the exclusion of the other players on his team. I don't think I ever thought he was worthy, and now, after years with he clown, I know I don't want him on the team.

Your recollection is off. LOL
Never had a offer from us. We never had room on the rooster. I don't recall any threads about bringing him onto the Purdue team. Maybe you started one, but your post said "Everyone want him". I think you might be off track here.

A fool did recruit him. And no, he's not good enough. Our rival won the B1G without him last year. This year with him, not so much.

the only thing I remember is alot on here wanted Crean when Painter was toying w/ the Mizzou job. I also will add I was on the Lavin bandwagon.

Those who wanted Crean are the same people who hate Painter. They complained that Painter wasn't bringing in the talent that Crean could.

I would have wanted him out of high school. But a one year rental? It's not about reining him in. It's about correcting 3 years of putrid habits and poor behavior!
