I think there will be a LOT of eyes from all across the country (and hopefully American Samoa!) on our game with OSU. Our two upsets have been leads for most of the sports shows and fodder for talking heads, all of this is great for recruiting and brand.

Dandylion, I know you (and others in our tailgate) hate that Spoilermaker moniker. But as a program and a team you HAVE to create an identity for yourself, and "Giant Killer", "Dream Crashers" and yes, even "Spoilermaker" is as good a place to start as any. You then use that with recruits to make it something more. "Did you know we have the reputation of 17 wins as an unranked team over top five teams which is more than any other team in the country? We want you here at Purdue to make that the most wins over ranked teams as a perennial Top 5 team."

West Lafayette .. where football dreams go to die lol

if we lose it will be because Ohio state is a very good team and not because the sky is falling and brohm is the worst ever and no one can play and on and on.

you can’t read a board during a loss without reading that everything about that team is the worst ever and on and on

we've done very well making up for the minny loss w/ 2 big wins. Next game though is against a team w/ too many weapons and them coming off aa ho hum performance and us coming off a great performance

Nebraska gave OSU a good game. Seemed like Buckeyes made a lot of big plays in the passing game. OSU has a good OL but the pass blocking wasn’t unbelievable. I thought I saw OSU running back leave the game, but he might have come back.

No reason we can’t keep it close. We need to run the ball like we have the last few weeks. I think 100 yards of rushing is a magic milestone for us.

I think they have a lot of weapons .. a couple things

we just have a better more physical defense than Nebraska.. this is not the kind of defense a freshman QB with slow reaction times wants to be facing .. you know those plays yesterday where he’s holding it holding it hold.. bam karlaftis just hit him in the back.

also they have the talent but their physicality couldn’t be more opposite of Wisconsin. And they don’t have a chase young like player to exploit oconnells weakness.

purdue 23
Ohio state 21

Oconnell leads a ridiculous last minute drive in the shoe .. hits David bell who breaks two tackles with 12 seconds left.

Questions begin about whether or not a 3 loss team can prove they are one of the best four teams in America in Indy

Master Teague is due back one of these weeks plus they have WR's galore that will put a ton of pressure on our DB's. Their FG kicker is money too.

That would be a huge stretch but it would open up a question many including myself have not believed possible. Has Purdue proven they might someday be able to reach the level of a championship playoff spot?

MSU offense is really good. We did some good things against them. I say we hold OSU to 35, providing our offense gets going. With all that being said, OSU has a talented defense. I think 35-21 is a reasonable prediction for the game. Should we do a little better than expected it could get interesting.

OSU is really good. I’m not expecting us to win, but I give us a punchers chance.

1. our pass defense has been good this year so far
2. OSU plays a 4-3. Brohm is better against the 4-3 than the 3-4
3. OSU has a good D but hasn’t been great at times
4. Their QB is talented but young. He’s not the juggernaut that OSU has had the past 5-6 years… yet

Purdue will move the ball on Ohio State. Their secondary is talented, but young. Bell will have another big game.

My biggest concern with this game will be Olave, Wilson, and Henderson getting loose for big plays. They have too many weapons on offense and too much speed. If we can hold them to a couple of big plays, we may be OK. Allen, Grant, Brown, and Mackey will be the keys to this game.

We haven’t struggled against weapons and Speed… not this defense. They’re fast enough that Nebraska gave up on getting Martinez to the outside of our defense ..

We struggle against big physical mauling offensive lines that can get physical with our front seven..

Think about it. All four of the teams We’ve been “meh” against had that.

I didn’t see that yesterday for Ohio state. Remember … our defense is better than Nebraska

if they had Wisconsin’s lines we’d lose by 30

I think our offense moving the ball is a key. I kept thinking during yesterday's game that it really helps the defense when the offense keeps them off the field for some rest. Brohm seems to have made some very good adjustments. Another test coming.

Don't disagree with you in general. But we've given up some big plays against teams like Notre Dame and even MSU. We have to keep that in check to win this game.

I got osu 41 - 20.

throw in that other young WR ( Flemming) who I saw play some H.S. out here in Pa. You forgot to mention Ojigba.

As a young fella, I watched Phipps / Keyes carve up Woody in the Shoe in 67. Good luck Saturday.

Reasonable. Boilers could make it interesting if a few things go our way. We’d need a few turnovers and for the running game to outperform expectations.

Bell would need to have a big fat and we’d have to limit or not have any turnovers.

We are a legit top 25 team. They have legit top 5 talent, but they are young at QB. We could make it interesting, but would need a bit of “help.”

who's hurt? don't follow them too closely
I believe WR Garrett Wilson and a couple of their OL but they could all be back next week. Besides, OSU's injuries don't factor in like they do for other teams because of their massive depth. they just do the "next man up" thing

Purdue thumped OSU 41 to 6 that day and that was the worst beating any OSU team suffered when Hayes was their coach. If the Boilermakers top the Bucks next Saturday,it will be the first and worst loss Ohio State has had in league play with Ryan Day as coach!
