Especially with a dearth of DTs and a presumed strength in LBs?

Any available coaches with a history of running the 3-4 with success?

A 3-4 defense??....and our nose guard would be??....never mind

We dont have the players on the DL for that either.

Not enough linebackers either.

Lol. We have to play defense of some or other right?

Reaching for Neal as NT. He's listed 6-2 and 345lbs. Gelen and Higgins/Larkin at DE provided they gain weight. It's not like they were speedster sack monsters to begin with. Just need to hold point and tie up the C and Guard while the OLBs blitz around the edge.

OLBs Ezechuckwu, Bailey. ILBs Bentley and...A JUCO to be named at a later date, or Hudson/Fakasiieik

Haha... thats a terrible front 7. This is going to be interesting. Hopefully Brohm sells the immediate playing time because that's all he pretty much has right now.

I think if we sign mykelti Williams, one juco linebacker, and one juco DT we can be half way decent as long as the juco's can actually play and not just space fillers.
DL Larkin, Neal, Juco, Robinson
Not great, but hopefully enough.
LB bailey, Bentley, EZ
Solid linebackers but not much depth
DB Hunte, Williams, Jallow, mosely/Roberts/Hayes/Cason or whoever else for the last spot.
With the additions should be solid with half way decent depth

With the above I feel like the defense could be decent and with the additions better than last year. We are really going to miss Repogle on the line, though, and Wilson as well. If Neal has a good offseason I could see him being a really good player for us. The line is a big question mark going forward and we still need to land Williams plus at least one Juco DT and probably one juco LB.

We don't need a juco lb imo
What depth do we have though? I might be forgetting someone, but this is who I can think of:
Start: bailey, Bentley, Ez
Subs: Polk-Campbell, sawyer Dawson, Hudson, and the r-fresh starts with F. Did I miss someone? If not, that just doesn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling especially if there are any injuries.

You didn't miss anyone. Too many jucos mess up the classes. That's what happened with tiller at the end.

The lines are the most important. Fill in there.

If we don't either develop what we have and gain some at least serviceable juco players for the line we will need more LBs .....Our LBs last year took a beating because of our poor line play...

I think Juwuan Jones would be a great asset at LB for Purdue's defense. He is around 6'3" and 232lbs. He is from Georgia. I think he was just named All State, All Region, and All County LB for 2016. In 2016, he had 136 tackles (91 solo), 15 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, and 1 Interceptions. Sounds like a good prospect.

The kid looks the part and has all the accolades but after watching the film......Is it me or does he look a little soft? A kid with that size in high school should be laying people and he doesn't really jump out at you on film.
