I saw that too. Question is...does Hunter want to wear it? Big Dog was one of the finest to play in college...Hunter wear #13. No one has worn it since 1994
Well said if his desire is to wear 13. THAT is a pretty tall order. The Dog was the best that year and probably a few years...Were I his Dad, I would counsel him to consider announcing
"While I love my #13, I have asked Coach Painter to not assign me it on joining the team. If, and hopefully when, I have made the kind of contributions expected from wearing Mr. Robinson's number, I would be excited to have the chance to do so. Boiler Up."
He can wear whatever he and Painter want, but I know damn well that few freshman need to continually be compared to any school legend. In the position of a relationship, I would tell him exactly what I posted explaining the chance to begin his career with a huge fan buy-in.omg people let him wear it...
It's not sacred. If I were any good I would want to wear it and I'd wear my socks high too.He can wear whatever he and Painter want, but I know damn well that few freshman need to continually be compared to any school legend. In the position of a relationship, I would tell him exactly what I posted explaining the chance to begin his career with a huge fan buy-in.
Just me... whatever
None of us have a say. We do know what Mount thought about his number. This is between him and Matt "IF" that is even desired. Mount was put off if you remember. I don't think anyone is saying it is right or wrong, just that historically we (well some of us) know that was a stink before.omg people let him wear it...
I'm not saying it is sacred. Personally, I never pay any attention to the jersey numbers or try to compare that. BUT we all read this Board and papers as well as watching TV and know what goes on.It's not sacred. If I were any good I would want to wear it and I'd wear my socks high too.
Never seemed a good idea to me to invite comparisons that are very difficult to meet...
I think he will be a valuable addition and a wonderful player.
I will be very pleasantly surprised if fans recognize his game to be on a Robinsonesque plane.
He's Eric Hunter and should make his own story...
When I say let him wear it I don't just physically mean let him wear it. Let him wear it in peace. And when I say let him, that is the royal "let him" including any former players! He can wear whatever he and Painter want, but I know damn well that few freshman need to continually be compared to any school legend. In the position of a relationship, I would tell him exactly what I posted explaining the chance to begin his career with a huge fan buy-in.
Just me... whatever
Robinson asked Wooden if he could wear the number. Hunter needs to ask Glenn. I doubt Glenn has a problem with it.if thats the number he wants, let him wear it!
THIS is the correct answer.Robinson asked Wooden if he could wear the number. Hunter needs to ask Glenn. I doubt Glenn has a problem with it.
This of course, is if Matt OK's Hunter to do so.
THIS is the correct answer.
I don't know the complete history of the #13.Is that a true story? Surely there were some other #13's from 1930 to 1990.
13 is my favorite number because of Big Dog. I wore my socks high too.
It is true. At one time I knew how the conversation went, but I am pretty sure Wooden said something like he would be proud for Glenn to wear it, and appreciated his asking. Is that a true story? Surely there were some other #13's from 1930 to 1990.
13 is my favorite number because of Big Dog. I wore my socks high too.
The Purdue media guide only goes back to 1951. Between 1951 and today, only Tyrone Bedford from 1967-1970 and Glenn Robinson from 1993-1994 wore #13.Is that a true story? Surely there were some other #13's from 1930 to 1990.
13 is my favorite number because of Big Dog. I wore my socks high too.
