Drain it because it is a bloated ineffective Govt. that is a waste of money. Many of these 450 agencies and sub agencies just need shut down and everyone fired.
FEMA imo could be one of those to be eliminated. States have shown they are far better @ management of disasters. Disasters happen....Congress allocates Treasury to send the money directly to state for admin.

The DOJ, the CDC, FEMA, and the FBI have been politically corrupted. Gaetz is exactly the person who will plow into them and get them accountable. I know some people in the FBI, and they are among the truly good people on the inside who favor turning this around.
Gaetz has never prosecuted a trial in his career. He's an embarrassing pick by Trump who will not be confirmed.

Given Harris' deficiencies that have been pointed out here and in public by trump, I believe it's safe to say there is a portion of the electorate that voted against Harris........just as there were many that voted against trump in '20.
Trump is currently winning the popular vote by about 2.7 million. Biden won by 7 million votes but that wasn't a mandate. This isn't either. It doesn't mean all 76 million voters agree with every trump position.

Biden should have been the transition candidate he claimed to be and declared a year before the election he wasn't going to run. A true campaign might have yielded a different candidate. May not have made any difference.

My small hometown had a Congressman and a State Supreme Court Justice, both Democrats, and I was friends with them and their entire families. My family was Republican, but I probably voted for more Democrats in my lifetime by a hair. The Ellsberg Papers shocked me how a President campaigned on an issue and then did the exact opposite.
I liked Reagan and voted for Obama, but I regret not endorsing Perot. Obama is my biggest disappointment. He talked about hope and change but was a complete parrot to Globalist Corporations and the Military-Industrial Complex. I thought Trump was running as a PR stunt, but I quickly endorsed him when I saw the media owned by the Swamp warp everything he said.
Trump will reenergize the economy, better secure the border, and, best of all, will bring world peace. In case you aren't noticing, Biden okayed Ukraine to have long-range missiles in an attempt to escalate the war.
Nevertheless, most people don't realize that Trump's other agenda is to curtail the Swamp's graft and corruption. Matt Gates is the perfect guy for this. Matt will point out those who need to be investigated, and hopefully, many will be tried and sent to prison. You are mistaken in thinking that Matt will prosecute them at the trial. That is not why Trump appointed him.
BTW, Matt may or may not have slept with a seventeen-year-old. The DOJ leaked that they have child sex trafficking charges against him. I believe that as much as I believe Trump raped that woman in Bergdorffs.
The DOJ decided not to bring charges. Get your facts straight. This investigation is happening because of House republicans. Even they don't want him.

Years ago I lived in Michigan and there was a case where two high school sophomores, in the same class, had sex and the girl got pregnant. At the time they had intercourse, he was 16 and she was 15. In Michigan, that is statutory rape.
The prominent parents of the girl very aggressively pursued charges against the guy and he was found guilty of being a registered sex offender. Anywhere he lived, for the rest of his life, he had to post a sign in the front yard saying that a registered sex offender lived there.
He couldn’t find a job. He couldn’t go to college. He couldn’t find a place to live. He was a monster.
When he was 28 years old, the court finally removed this "registered sex offender" designation from him.

"I've had enough of this so-called "House ethics report" on Matt Gaetz. The underlying allegations are so laughable and flimsy that the only purpose of it is to smear Gaetz.
Here are the facts:
The "report" comes YEARS after the DOJ dropped its investigation into the same claims. Why did the DOJ drop the investigation? The claims hinge on the testimony of two witnesses who have such gaping credibility issues that even the DOJ, which hates Gaetz, knew no jury would ever convict him.
Who are these witnesses?
1) Joel Greenberg, who has been described as "one of the most corrupt Florida politicians of all time" and has literally made false underage sex allegations against another politician before! He accused an innocent school teacher who was running against him for tax-collector of having sex with an underage student. Sound familiar? A judge called the lies "downright evil."
2) Greenberg became embroiled in a series of crimes and faced a possible 27 years in federal prison. One of these crimes was having sex with an underage minor, the same 17-year-old who is the central character in the claims against Gaetz. BUT, even Greenberg claims he didn't know she was underage because she LIED about her age! She is now active on OnlyFans, selling sexual access for money, and has appeared in porn videos. Go figure.
According to a 2023 lawsuit, Greenberg repeatedly begged Gaetz to secure a pardon for him, and when Gaetz refused, Greenberg vowed vengeance.
An inmate who shared a cell with Greenberg told two federal agents that Greenberg told him that the woman “would be willing to adopt Greenberg’s lie in hopes of a future financial benefit." Greenberg admitted to paying the woman's legal bills in a text to a friend!
Yes, this is all ridiculous. Yes, it is all clearly contrived lies. Will the media still use it to tar and feather Gaetz? Absolutely. Gaetz has made a career of picking fights no one else in Washington had the stomach to pick. They fear him at the DOJ more than anyone.
And that's exactly why we need him running the Department of Justice—he's the only one with the guts to fight the most important fights at the DOJ and root out the corruption we've seen on full display these last 8 years.

Gaetz isn't qualified for the job of AG. As I stated he's never prosecuted anyone. My belief and hope are that he is rejected largely by members of his own party and Trump has to pick someone else. And even if she were only 17, that's still jailbait and if he did have sex with her, he's as guilty as if she were 12.
The ONLY concern these R Senators have about ANY of these picks is the $ they would have to turn down from lobbyist.
That's how the Senate works. The more lobbyist $ out there.....the more these Corrupt Senators will have concerns.

Even if Gaetz's qualifications were the best in history for AG, The mere fact that he is being investigated for the serious crime he should not have been selected. Unlike Hegseth, the Gaetz allegations were known for a long time. Chump most likely is going to bully and shame the republicans on the Judiciary committee to pass through these jacked up appointments.
