Wouldn't it make more sense to have our Blackhawk units positioned along our southern border, where they can train in wide open areas and patrol our border at the same time? Right now they're in places like Kansas, Colorado, Washington state, Virginia. Obviously, they will never engage an "enemy" there. Why not relocate all of them along the Mexico-Texas/New Mexico/Arizona/California border and have them do double duty assisting our CBP agents?
Why have a Blackhawk unit in metro DC? Those are attack helicopters, air cavalry.

Another issue, the Army has a “high school to flight school” program for helicopter pilots. Some of those chopper pilots are 18-yr-olds who can't buy a beer for another three years.
