I think if IOWA falters and loses badly this weekend (24-7) and ends up 9-3, I think an exciting Purdue team at 8-4 jumps a boring 9-3 Iowa for a Florida bowl.

Is that too much to hope for?

Adrian Martinez is apparently out for Nebraska. No idea who the Huskers have behind him.

The line moved from Nebraska-3.5 to Iowa-1.5. Their backup is a guy who has seen only mop up duty time or whenever Martinez was hurt.

Problem is Iowa travels so well compared to Purdue. It’s all about money.
LOL. Ah, the good ol' days of Iowa fans inundating the board to tell us how well they travel. I think that came along before the "Chris Booker / We'll know more tomorrow" thing, didn't it?

I'll be very interested to see how Nebraska looks with somebody besides Adrian Martinez at QB. He's been a big part of their problem, IMO, and I have no idea why Frost has continued to stick with him. The only logical reason is if their backups completely suck. We'll find out on Friday.

The major media still has the Boilers going to pin stripe bowl. I’m a firm believer Iowa will have no problem with Nebraska and that penn state will beat MSU! If MSU loses, purdue might take their place. Purdue would be smart to avoid the music city bowl. Vegas wouldn’t be bad! Let’s beat IU first and worry about the bowls later!

I’m rooting for Iowa. They have good fans and are respectable.

Nebraska fans seem to believe it’s their fate to have a good program and that they have “elite” talent compared to other teams.
It’s not and they don’t..

when they complain about Adrian Martinez I laugh. If old boy was as effective mentally as Lamar Jackson.. he wouldn’t have gone to Nebraska

Still scarred from the Music City Bowl? Meh. That was a completely injury-depleted team that wouldn't have stacked up well with Auburn even with our starters. It was a matter of losing by 15-20 vs. losing by 50 and our injury situation produced the latter.

Aside from the playoff and maybe NY6, bowl games are nothing more than exhibition games to be enjoyed. My family still had a great time in Nashville despite the outcome of the game.

I wouldn't be gun shy about playing there again, though I don't think it'll happen. Generally speaking the bowls try to avoid situations where the same team visits more than once every 5-6 years. I don't think we'll fall to the Pinstripe. We've got some star power in Bell and Karlaftis, and I think we'll end up against a Pac12 team in Vegas, which would be fantastic.

Nebraska doesn't beat teams. They play them close and then lose in the fourth quarter.

Adrian Martinez = Fools Gold.

They need to move on from him anyway.

When I saw that Martinez was out my first thought was that could be a good thing for Nebraska. He was dynamic as a freshman but seems to have stagnated since. On the other hand, nobody's been able to beat him out--so maybe that says something about what they have at the position.

I’d love to see Purdue demolish an ACC team. I believe a matchup against Louisville would be cool
