Who would you look at and say "Oh s$!!, if they get him they're going to be really good"?

Not worried. They couldn't sell the job last time it was on the market and I don't believe the last 9 years have made it more attractive.

Personal opinion.....Alford. He'd keep state kids in house. Anyone who says he can't coach doesn't know a thing about the game. Just finished watching a group of kids at UCLA laughing and having a great time against Oregon State. But I know for a fact he will not come back to IU, Stevens is having a ball in Boston (and sitting at his lake house on Wawasee in the summer. I'm tellin' you that IU is going to have one heck of a hard time to get anyone with a semblance of a name to come.

Gregg Marshall or Archie Miller. And I think they could have their pick of the two. Boiler fans that think the IU job won't attract great candidates are living in denial. Also, keep an eye on Hoiberg if he is canned.

Gregg Marshall looks like Crean, acts like Crean, and like Crean would be coming from a weak conference. Big mistake if they hired him. Is Miller the real deal? Lot's of problem children in his program so he might be a Sampson type fit at IU. I'm really not a fan of either.

Marshall or Mack and good hair stylist .

Ed Schilling - Asst at UCLA, Lebanon kid .... assistant with Calipari at Memphis, UMass and the Nets, coached Yogi at Park Tudor. Trained Greg Oden, Mike Conley, Mario Chalmers, Gordon Heyward, Jeff Teague, Marquis Teague, Carl Landry and many others at his Championship Academy in Zionsville. Knows everyone, well liked and respected, tons of contacts and tons of experience ... HC at Wright State for several years a while back... tons of experience since then ... and now UCLA.

Izzo has had problem children too and that doesn't mean he wasn't a great hire for M$U.

The only thing Crean and Marshall share in common is that they are a little weird. Marshall would tear it up at IU.

Prying Bennett away from UVA would be a nightmare

This but Bennett turned them down before. Doubt he'd be interested now that he has his program going at Virginia.

Truth be told they would be good with any somewhat decent coach. They won the league twice with Crean.

Hell .....Bring back Alford..........love to see the Painter-Alford rivalry........great for basketball in our state.....

No chance of this ...
He has a good a chance as any............IU is not the attractive JOB it use to be..............hell Crean I think was 3rd on the list when he was hired! But then again...........Stevey is probably chasing some HOT coeds out there.............

Yeah but the IU job is without question more attractive now than it was when Sampson left. If IU throws out crazy money, ($6-7 mil) I bet they could get Bennett, maybe even Sean Miller.

Arizona is a better job than IU now. They have a more recent National Championship. Plus, Miller just signed an extension.

Bennett will not coach at IU because of what they did to his sister and has stated as much to the key folks in Bloomington. They asked him when they hired Crean and like everyone else, he turned them down.

Fake news! Steve doesn't chase co-ed's.
See below ... I never post fake news .... or even alternative facts ...

He doesn't scare me at all. He can't coach IMO. UCLA recruits itself and he's done nothing there so far and until he does, I'm a non believer in him. Iowa went from a contender under Dr. Tom, to a joke under Alford.

I don't consider Sean Miller, Bennett, Alford or Brad Stevens as even remote possibilities to leave their current jobs for IU. IU will likely lose OG, Bryant and JBJ to the NBA after this season and who's to say they don't have a transfer or two if Crean were to be fired or even kept on another season with the kind of rotation/substitutions he uses. Whoever comes in is looking at a somewhat significant rebuild that will take a couple years.
