Who is opening day starter next year?

I think Blough played well in compared to the shit weve seen the past few years

Agree with this. People want to focus on his interceptions and I won't deny that several of those were mistakes (I put a couple of the receivers too) but he's an inexperienced QB starting and today did not have much of a running game to help him out let alone a defense that couldn't stop anyone in the first half. Let him play and let him make mistakes and let him learn. Without Shoop around I still give him a good chance to improve with experience. May not happen quickly enough to salvage this season but it would be nice to have a good, experienced quarterback coming back next year with Markell Jones and 3 starters on the offensive line. Could give us hope going into next season.

Sad that many of us are already looking to potential positives for next year in week two??

Actually, I'm hoping we see him grow throughout the season but I understand the frustration. The way I see it, we have 3 choices:

1. Hope for the best and focus on potential positives for the future.
2. Sulk and complain for the next two months as if that will change anything between now and then.
3. Quit paying attention and caring altogether.

So long as the team can give me something to take away from the games, I'm going to go with option #1.

I was actually excited to see what Blough did today. Interceptions suck and I understand, but I also saw him sling the ball around like I haven't seen a Purdue QB do since Painters Jr. Season. I'm serious. There was some heat on those passes, and I wish he would have been able to do this sort of style back when he was a freshman....he would be so much better right now. Absolute shame.

I agree. He threw the ball downfield and was confident doing it. IMO,The first INT was mostly the receivers fault. The ball in the end zone before half was a very poor decision but I like that he was trying to make something happen. How many times the past few years did our offense suffer because the QB was too afraid to make an error? Half the time they would hold onto the ball too long and then get stripped by a defensive end. With experience he will make better decisions, but he has the arm strength, the mobility, and the confidence to move the chains. Now lets address some of the actual problems on the team (mainly third down defense).
