When this season ends, Purdue can finish with 9 wins

Remember the Western Conference was the name of the Big Ten back then. We have been in the Big Ten since we helped found it.

So 125 Season, never 10 wins, would be 9th time we won 9 games.

Heck we have only been ranked in the AP poll 16 times since it started in 1948 73 seasons ago. I think if we win against IU and our bowl, we should be ranked.

My only question: Why are we being stuck in NYC (pinstripe bowl)? For that matter, why are outdoor bowls allowed to North of Tennessee in December? Should be required to be indoors if in cold weather.
Hopefully Purdue will finish strong and be able to participate in a real bowl

We're still going to be several rungs down in the B1G ladder when it comes to bowls.
OSU
UM
MSU
PSU
Wisc
Iowa despite beating them
Minnesota maybe

Better yet how did the Big Ten get roped into the NYC bowl game? Another Commish Warren failure?
I don't think so. I think we've been in this one for a few years, so probably a product of Jim Delany trying to get the east coast market along with Rutgers.

You’re right. Just looked it up.

Also, a fun bit of trivia.. Since the Big Ten started participating in 2014, it has gone 5-1 in the Pinstripe bowl against the ACC. Without looking, name the team responsible for the one loss.

You made it too easy!

Edit: Is it a school that hasn't won a bowl game in the last 29 years!

By my count would only be out 6th time since joining the big ten in 68 season, and 3 of the times were under Tiller.

Never had a 10 or more win season either. 9-4 would be a hell of an accomplishment for us
BS. Purdue went 10-2 in 1979 under Jim Young including a bowl win over Tennessee.

We were not too long ago, but then Orton fumbled.
When we stop losing to Minnesota and Wisconsin, we will likely be legit contenders.

Honestly, I kind of doubt that the Orton fumble team would beat this Brohm team. Purdue started 5-0 that season and finished 7-5. Pretty much lost to every good team they played that season.

The ultimate Purdue Brohm team would be this year's team with a reasonable running game, maybe 8th or 9th in the B1G instead of DFL. That team is a contender.

I would be ecstatic if we are in the Pinstripe Bowl! IMO, the 3 main values of being in a Bowl Game are extra practice time for the 2022 team, bragging rights with a win, and RECRUITING! Playing in the cold in NYC will be an advantage over any ACC team. And most importantly, the media will be blanket covering the game. Our exposure will be great and a win means more highly ranked recruits.

The Indiana Hoosiers.
