Purdue needed speed in this class.

It did not get much of any in its 2015 class, because the three running backs it wound up with, after Rob Ennis fell off the board, are more physical types and the two junior college receivers it signed are big and physical, or so they're reputed to be, but not exactly 4.4 guys. That's not to say they're slow, but they're not defined by their speed.

Purdue needed some speed. Badly.

Furthermore, Purdue took just two JUCOs at wide receiver and needed to backfill that spot from a future-depth-charts perspective. If it lands its third high school receiver among its first nine commitments, it's safe to say a couple of needs will be met in one fell swoop.
