Well this is interesting......

It's the stupidity of Purdue firing a coach mid season, while not hiring a coach by the end of season. Absolutely no point whatsoever firing Hazell to this point by not hiring by end of season. It shows the Purdue administration needs cleaned out top to bottom. These are fools not professionals. It's their insane decisions that are holding this program back from decent production. They all need fired. Students need to start holding them accountable for this. They need fired along with these stupid idiot coaches.

The correct move was to fire Hazell mid season AND hire a coach before end of season prior to the whole other college firings. Now you tip your hand and stand with your hat in your hand. Good lord already. Does this even need said? PJ Fleck can go we don't need Fleck. The guy had 1 good season with a stupid Mac school. He is FOOLS GOLD. We been down that road and we don't need to go down it again. Fleck is divorced and recently remarried, in my mind not a good characteristic of a coach, in addition to abruptly leaving prior coaching jobs. Surely after months this god forsaken loser old hag unprofessional clueless gaggle of administrators has something better than this by now.

Your right! This waiting game to see who of the might be leaving someplace else game might have worked if they have dumped DH2 2 yrs ago when it was pretty clear he was not up to the task. By postponing the inevitable MB killed the brand completely. A terrible price to pay for MB's pride not to admit he got took by a flash in the pan. I wonder what kind of due diligence was actually done? I wonder if anyone ever interviewed former players? Who in their right minds at PURDUE takes on former OSU staff, on a rec from Jim Tressel. About as bad as taking on IU retreads.

Another thought- what if we have talked to Sumlin's agent and are waiting for A&M to make a decision? Then maybe Fleck is option number 2. That would make me think we hired the right AD.

Fleck may not be a great get. He has some poor relationships with HS coaches in Indiana at some of the MIC schools and some up north, because when he came on board with WMU he told previously committed recruits, a week before signing day, he wasn't interested in keeping any of them. He could have let them know a month earlier... Local coaches went ballistic, that is breaking the unwritten rules.

This was in Indiana? I remember reading about this but for some reason thought it was in NJ.

In my opinion and who I want in order:
1) Sumlin
2) Strong
3) Fleck
4) Miles
5) Schiano

Whoever Purdue picks I will support and that is the difference between me and the rest of the whiners.

The Fans and Alumni need to be part of the positive solution not problem and support whoever the AD decides on.

Boiler Up!

Nope Indiana, He stiffed kids from Lawrence Central, Warren, Ben Davis, Penn and somewhere else, like Terre Haute. Coaches had previously said he would never be welcome on their campus again, don't know if that has changed with the passing of time. But I know Louisville stiffed a Warren kid way back and they STILL aren't allowed to recruit there

edit: not Ben Davis, it was Carmel......

That's a pretty crappy thing to do to a kid who may have been counting on a scholarship :/ It's one thing to see a guy play a season and say your not cutting it kid, another to basically wait till the last minute to say sorry no thanks.

1. Calhoun - lots of experience with smart, marginal recruits
2. Fleck - lots of energy . Probably lands elsewhere
3. Sumlin
4. Mullen - as long as we are hiring people not fired yet (like Sumlin)
5. Brohm
