Weird that you'd not only make the 1 seed play a road game but with less rest. I'd be pissed if I was Houston.10:09 ET.
Well, the less rest part was inevitable because Purdue/McNeese was the first R32 game.Weird that you'd not only make the 1 seed play a road game but with less rest. I'd be pissed if I was Houston.
I don't think the rest is an issue at all, and not sure why the game being at 10:09 matters, unless you don't mean that. We both played on Saturday, so I don't see a big deal there.Weird that you'd not only make the 1 seed play a road game but with less rest. I'd be pissed if I was Houston.
I'm talking from Friday to Sunday. You'd think the one seed would earn max rest opportunity for the elite 8.I don't think the rest is an issue at all, and not sure why the game being at 10:09 matters, unless you don't mean that. We both played on Saturday, so I don't see a big deal there.
I do see a big deal in fan support. All 3 other teams are driving distance to Indy. I read somewhere that they wanted to go to the West regional because of the likelihood of that issue. They knew their 2-seed would be from the SEC, likely Tennessee, leading into Selection Sunday. The also knew there was a good likelihood of a Big 10 team there. Kentucky is slightly unexpected because it was a little more random.
Rest from Fri to Sun.Well, the less rest part was inevitable because Purdue/McNeese was the first R32 game.
10:09 ET.
I don't think that's a thing. So you would always have the 1 seed playing the first game of the 2 in the S16?I'm talking from Friday to Sunday. You'd think the one seed would earn max rest opportunity for the elite 8

The times are straight up for TV purposes.
Thats the crappy part about not being the #1 overall seed. You get thrown wherever. When Indiana was the 1 seed in 2013, they played Syracuse in DC.Weird that you'd not only make the 1 seed play a road game but with less rest. I'd be pissed if I was Houston.
IU is still confused by the nightmare that is a 2-3 zone.Thats the crappy part about not being the #1 overall seed. You get thrown wherever. When Indiana was the 1 seed in 2013, they played Syracuse in DC.
They are confused by all those great coaching hires over the last 10 years.IU is still confused by the nightmare that is a 2-3 zone.
IU gets confused by shiny objects and random squirrels. They are confused by all those great coaching hires over the last 10 years.
Also, who needs guards that can consistently hit the 3.
2013.....that made me laugh!Thats the crappy part about not being the #1 overall seed. You get thrown wherever. When Indiana was the 1 seed in 2013, they played Syracuse in DC.
Yes I would. I'm also pretty sure 10 eastern isn't the ideal TV time either.I don't think that's a thing. So you would always have the 1 seed playing the first game of the 2 in the S16?

That I agree with.Yes I would. I'm also pretty sure 10 eastern isn't the ideal TV time either.
Playing close to midnight affects normal sleep patterns even if you play the later game on Sunday. All things being equal, you'd rather play the game that gets you to bed at a normal time. That I agree with.
But I don't think playing the late game Friday affects anything for Sunday.
Apples and oranges comparison, imo.Thats the crappy part about not being the #1 overall seed. You get thrown wherever. When Indiana was the 1 seed in 2013, they played Syracuse in DC.
He just wanted to bring up IU somehow 😂 😂Apples and oranges comparison, imo.
The difference between Syracuse/DC and Bloomington/DC is just a few hours by car.
Houston v. Lafayette to Indy is a whole different story.
Wrong Shot is wrong once again…Apples and oranges comparison, imo.

Speaking of 18th century Chinese agricultural practices...He just wanted to bring up IU somehow 😂 😂
The comment might also have inadvertently exposed the insularity of the IU fan base. If Syracuse had an advantage in '13 it wasn't geographic (the difference isn't that great). Rather, Syracuse probably has a broader alumni base with a presence in the DC area--like how Purdue can make a January trip to the Pacific NW and have almost 1000 Purdue fans show up in Seattle and Eugene.Wrong Shot is wrong once again…
We’re witnessing a level of consistency that is the stuff of which legends are made.
Thats one of a few reasons Crean wasn't ever going to make it long term. The dude played Cuse in the SEC and i guess forgot they only played zone. Didn't help that Hulls was hurt but that was a crappy game. Was a good Cuse team though with Michael Carter-Williams, CJ Fair and Southerland.IU is still confused by the nightmare that is a 2-3 zone.
Bingo! Took another PU thread and somehow worked stupid IU into it. 2013 good lord, who gives a crap?He just wanted to bring up IU somehow 😂 😂
I was told IU travels the best out of any fan base though??The comment might also have inadvertently exposed the insularity of the IU fan base. Derrick Queen level travels?I was told IU travels the best out of any fan base though??
They do. But Cuse only had to travel half the distance. Would it have made a difference had Indiana had the Midwest instead? Probably. Would it have mattered if they played Syracuse no matter what? No clue. Unfortunately Syracuse was just a bad matchup. Creans coaching(lack of) and Indiana's small guards hurt them in that game. Yogi and Hulls both 6ft(on a good day). MCW was 6-6 and Triche 6-4. I don't think they played anyone under 6-4. Was a perfectly built Boeheim team for his zone.I was told IU travels the best out of any fan base though??

He was in kindergarten in 2013...first season of basketball he remembers.Bingo! Took another PU thread and somehow worked stupid IU into it. 2013 good lord, who gives a crap?
I thought this was you. It's strictly TV and $$$$'s.......interestingly, Florida is the only top of the bracket match-up in the early window.
Duke (TH) and Auburn (F) have the third slot - first of the second set games, and Houston (F) has the fourth slot.
The second-slot games though are Florida (TH) and Tennessee/Kentucky (F). The only other team that might have affected slots would have been St. John's.
You know kindergartners that care to sit and watch basketball? Did you tape them to the couch? He was in kindergarten in 2013...first season of basketball he remembers.
That is only something a deadbeat dad like you would do so you can spend all your time here.Did you tape them to the couch?
No, I just know my kindergartner doesn't care. If they were dinosaurs, he'd watch. I don't even watch games on the TV lol. My daughters control that. That is only something a deadbeat dad like you would do so you can spend all your time here.
It was the only game i cared to watch and I'm not sure I can even stay awake for the start.I'm not allowed to stay up that late 😵💫🥺💤😴🥱🛌
